Kennedale is a much weaker team this year than the past two years when they took Arygle right down to the end and could have won both years. they are a running team that try to run over you. they will not be much of a challenge to WOS this year.

i saw the game Friday night and Brock is the real deal they are really well coached and block better than any team I have seen all year. the quarterback would pitch to a back and go block someone. I know the yeomen are always good and it will be a real good game but I believe Brock will break the championship streak. By how much I do not know but believe it will be close game.

Do not believe Longview has much of a chance against this team. they average over 300lbs per man on the offense line and so far have pushed everyone around all year. incredible team for a school who has been playing varsity football for only 3 years. these guys remember 3 years ago when they were 0-10 and believe they can win it all, good luck to east Texas team but I believe they have too big a task in front of them to succeed.

Lorena is a team that will not dazzle you with size or speed but they are gritty and will keep coming at you all night. they are well coached and have their entire town backing them. I do not believe they will beat Atlanta but they will give all they have trying to beat you. they use two quarterbacks one is much bigger than the other and he is the best passer , the smaller kid is the best runner. nothing really fancy against Canton they just line up and come after you. also Canton's quarterback this year was a junior.

absolutely not any team that wins 8 games a year has a great season. but when a coach says before the season starts this is the best team he has ever had at this school and has to win 5 out of 7 last games just so the team goes 5 and 5 isn't a good year .this happens way too much at Canton. if they averaged winning 7 games a year that would be great but average winning 5 a year should not be tolerated by any school. The tigers down the road lost twice and only won 1 playoff game this year but lost to two time defending state champs by 1 point. I doubt if anyone there believes they had a bad year this year.5 and 5 isn't a winning record and the great kids at Canton deserve to be a winning team.

I don't have to hide many people know who I am. you are good baseball coach an you even said two years ago you didn't want the offensive coordinators job at Canton. they truth is the school board and superintendent are willing to accept 50% winning in football. there is nothing else in the Canton ISD that would be accepted if it were 50%. teaching, band director, or anything else. football should not be accepted winning at a 50% level either. sorry i am sure there are a few good football coaches on that staff but the head coach is not one of them. and I personally have nothing against Ivey I have never spoken to him nor has he ever spoken to me. his record everywhere he has ever coached shows he is not a winning football coach. he might be a good Athletic Director that I do not know but if he is he should give up the head coaching job and go out and hire a proven winning coach like Malakof did a years ago and now they have a great winning team every year.

you people no clue so the horrible injustice will continue to go on. Canton was just as big, faster, and would have won that game by several touchdown if you just swapped the coaching staffs. Canton had two taller and better receivers than the leopards, much faster running back and a better quarterback. and to say I wanted them to loose to Gladwater is stupid . I want them to win every night you'll are the ones who won't give them a chance. if you believe this is a good head coach then God help these kids because you won't.

anyone who saw this ballgame had to see that Canton had a very big edge in talent, they had 4 turnovers all by the quarterback but what beat them was no pass defense at all. three long touchdown where the receiver was at least 20 yards behind canton defense back. if this team had a decent coaching staff they would be 10 wins- 2 loss and headed to 3rd round of the playoffs. I can't believe any administrator can sit back and watch his kids play their hearts out and get beat by a less talented football team and just still let it go.it has been going on now for 5 years and still nothing happens. those kids need a better chance to win that what they have with that group. the school board should be ashamed of themselves.

Lake Ridge is playing in their only 3rd year of varisty ball. Won 0 1st year . good year last year, great year this year undefeated. they will be really hard to beat. they came out of very tough district where they dominated.

you see how much fan support Canton has with not one Canton fan even picking their team. They have had a ok season but should be much better with all the seniors and lettermen they have. the town does not support the team for several reasons, one the coach does absolutely nothing to showcase his team to the fans and build any king of town support and like it or not Canton is a band town and doesn't give a damn about the football team. the only reason they have a team is so the band can play 5 Friday nights a year at the stadium. It is so wrong for the athletes at Canton who work their butts off wanting to win and have the support they deserve. It will never change unless the school district super and school board changes the direction the football program is going by starting with hiring a proven winning coach who will get the entire town excited and behind the team.

Canton has I believe 15 returning lettermen and coach said before the season this is the best team he had ever had at Canton since he has been there. there is only one reason they don't win and it is very easy to see why if you ever watch them play. if they win 3 games this season they will be lucky. what a shame for those good kids.

it was a very good night at Newsome stadium except for the long lighting delay. two good games 4 great teams. Arlington Martin was by far the must impressive team this night. they has Desoto 32 -0 before Desoto ever got their offensive going. wasn't a very good first game for their new coach. Trinity's new coach really had them ready and did a good job of making game adjustments at halftime. By the way Martin beat Allen 25-23 in their only scrimmage before the season began so they are for real. They play Dallas Skyline this week so they are going after all the big boys. would not be suprised to see them go deep into the playoffs again this year. DSl is a very good team do not sell them short. they can really run the football and will do very good the rest of the year.

nobody is going to feel sorry for little Lindale after the way they ran up the scores when they were the big dogs and were playing the small teams like Rains and etc. as far as a lot are concerned they do not deserve any pitty.

Terrible news so sorry for all his family and friends .we will be praying for all.

There was a great article in the Ft Worth newspaper today about the coach's medical complications. he is having to go to Houston twice a week to Anderson cancer for treatments and they said it is costing over $11,000 per week. He doesn't have cancer but a problem caused by from transplants .Article said his body isn't rejecting the new lungs but bas white blood cells that were in the lungs are the cause of the complication. it said this is the only fourth time this has ever happened. they still do not know if the experimental treatment will work or not. he is a good man and a great coach and lets all remember him in our prayers. he is trying to coach his team this year and I wish him the best.

what a--holes the NFL are to mess up the State of Texas playoffs. if they do not agree to change somehow. I hope the entire state of Texas boycotts the Cowboys game with the Jets. It should not be a very good game anyway if the boys are as good as we believe they are.

put a winning team on the field so the stands wouldn't be over half empty. but would have to replace coach and most of staff to do that so just forget It and leave it alone and enjoy the band.

Why does Carthage never play in these games being as close to the state line as they are. They have great coach and athletes so I would like to see them represent Texas also. Waskon needs to get involved since their program has improved so much .

looks like Westwood is on the right track getting much better in all phases. maybe some of the good athletes in Palestine will want to play there instead of another program in town who has been going the wrong way now for several years with no stability in their program.

Congratulations for the Martin Mills girls for winning another state championship with a first year head coach. The boys are in the state tournament and have a very good chance of wining their title also. what an achievement for a little school in Van Zandt County. Good luck to the boys and bring back a state championship this weekend. PS: I hope Canadian's basketball team isn't as good as their football team or it will be a very tough assignment beating them.

Sounds like the school board here took some lessons from Canton's board hiring somebody who was 1-9 his last year as head coach. Everyone can see how that has worked out for Canton. most losers will lose everywhere they go and most real winners will win everywhere they go.

noted most of these guys are bad very bad but please don't complain I love being able to watch all these games on T. V. and still draw over a quarter million fans to the stadium to watch the games. Texas has great high school football.

Argyle's run ends this week they have been very lucky they won the last two weeks both of those games could and maybe should have been loses. they are very good but Graham will end their run this week because of their Graham's defense.

Ennis fans told me at the Timberview game that Sam Harrell would be the new coach there.
