just a question but doesn't the UIL have contracts with other companies like webb electroics, spalding etc. i don't here people crying foul about those contracts--- sponsers the UIL doesn't make all school use webb electronics for head phones or video and they pay the UIL don't they?? i really don't see the big deal

speed, i guess i missed something? are you talking about 7-8 machine pitch baseball??? dude if you are still upset about dixie baseball man i'm sorry. i'm sure the grove and gladewater people in summer baseball really didn't have it in for you guys. now to talk football. yep the grove is 3-0 i don't see anybody from the grove on here tooting their own horn. just people knocking them. it don't matter who they played they are still 3-0 as for the rest of the year, we'll just have to see. i think that is why they play the games on friday night.

he can't swim a lick but he sinks real well, sepecially with that black filing cabinet attached. let's just pray that the coach doesn't have to wear a speedo like the swimmers!!!!!!!!

after reading all 5 pages of this post and knowing both sides of the arguement. one thing is getting left out of this ENTIRE mess------ the kids playing the game---. i am a coach and have coached high school baseball for almost 22 years now. when i first starting coaching the guys who came and called the games did so because they wanted to be around the game, money wasn't the ONLY reason they called baseball. and now, right or wrong, the perception is it is all about the $$$$$. some guys call cause of a love of the game and the $$$$ is a bouns. some call for the $$$$$ and the game is the way to make extra $$$$$. i looked at it and at $45 a game plus mileage, using the ave mileage number the longview chapter uses, it comes out to about $121 for one offical for one night. that is a jv game before a varsity game. 45+45+31=$121. if they spend 5 hrs at the park 4:00 to 9:00, that come out to roughly $25 per hr, $24.25 per/hr. for 1 offical using the flat rate of $85 85+85= 170 or $36 per/hr for the same 4 hrs for 1 offical, next look at the "discount" for tournament games . $75 per/game most of the time they will call 2 games back to back $150 for 4 hrs, cause most tour. games have a 2 hr time limit. that is roughly $37.50 per/hr. now, don't hammer me on this, but $25/hr isn't bad for an part time, extra job. most people would gladly like for a second "JOB" to pay $25/ hr. personally i think some kind of compromise should be worked out between both the parties involved. but both want to flex their muscle and stand firm on what want. our district meet and followed suit with all the others and understandablity the UIL. who does govern high school athletics. the reality is the baseball season will go on weather we have TASO umps or billy jo bob calling and the ones who will and are stuck in the middle of all this #### is the KIDS. i tried to explain this situation to my kids yesterday and believe it or not all they wanted was to just be able to PLAY. yes, they wanted good umps calling and not billy jo bob out of the stands. but they could say was what are we going to do coach??? i did'nt have an answer. is it just the umps no is it just the UIL no both groups need to remember who all this is for and get it FIXED before the KIDS get screwed!!

I worked at West Rusk for 11 years starting in the mid 80's. Coach Bradshaw wasn't coaching at the time but his presence was most definately there. We saw him around the school and it was awesome to have someone around who was willing to talk football and help a young coach learn about the profession. Words really can't express the influence he had and the respect i have for him. If ever there is a man who is strong enough to pull through, it is Coach Bradshaw. To his family, please know that you are all in our prayers. Especially for God's healing power for Coach Bradshaw. Russell, Kim, Dillon and Daniel Jarvis

i have seen them both. IF the necks play the way they did at the first of district then they should win. winona' defense is better than expected, but i think WO can move the ball on them and score. WO's defense should be able to keep winona from scoring many points. with all that said they still have to line up and play the game. should be a good game WO 35 WINONA 7

i'll just be glad when it's all over and one team wins, by alot or by alittle, at least all the bs will be over. it should be a good high school football game. don't go to the concession stand you might miss a quarter if the line is long. FRIDAY NIGHT IN TEXAS MEANS ONE THING FOOTBALL

once, so i guess you are one of the ones who believe when the team wins it is the kids and when they lose it is the coaching??? i never said or implied you said willie was a bad coach. but when a coach is at a school for 20 years and compile the kind of record he had at diana, that his coaching had nothing to do with it?? yes, it helps to have great athletes, but there are alot of places who have had great athletes and still didn't win. what all this boils down to is this for some reason,what ever it is,you don't want willie back in diana. and there are some who want him back. you are entitled to your opinion even if you are wrong!! ease up just joking!!!

onceaneagle, don't give willie more credit than he deserves??? let me see 20 yrs head coach 16 yrs in playoff many 11 plus win years and i guess you were around and know that ND had a stock pile of great athletes. more like hard nosed kids who worked there butts off because they wanted to win and got good coaching. wille did a hell of a job there and everywhere he has been. give it a rest, there are people who would love to have him back in ND and there are those like you who don't have a clue!!

coach hargett is currently at union grove as an assistant. as far as return to eagle land, well --- only time will tell. without a doubt he'd do a hell of a job in diana or where ever he ends up. i know the grove would hate to loose him

sound like an heck of an idea. coach bird gave alot of his energy to baseball at gladewater and i can't think of a better way to honor the coach and the man. who needs to contacted to get the ball rolling on that idea???

long time gladewater coach victor bird passed away 12 - 18 my thoughts and prayers are with his family

diana and harleton are tied for 1st both 12-1 one to play and jefferson and harmony 8-5 one left also.
