  1. I was stunned to see he won defensive MVP…not because I thought he didn’t play a great defensive game but because what was caught on camera spitting on / toward / in the direction of an opposing player. I get that the kid may be a respectable kid off the field but to spit on or toward or in the direction of another player is unacceptable. The honor of Defensive MVP should go to a kid who plays their tail off, that makes a notable impact, while showing sportsmanship and class. Spitting on someone is a crime in Texas
  2. Franklin and Lorena will be a good regional final, district of doom for sure
  3. Same reason Adrian Peterson left WW to go to Palestine High, maybe the tide is turning in Palestine?
  4. Are Palestine kids transferring to Westwood yet?
  5. You might be right the dad is getting offers to coach in the DFW
  6. Dad is an assistant football coach and head basketball
  7. The kid will get to choose whether he wants to play D1 football or D1 basketball
  8. That’s a hard pick, you want to pull for fellow district member like PW but you have a playoff newcomer like PW, versus a powerhouse that Lorena is, they’ve been here and won it all just a couple years ago. I saw that PW hadn’t won a playoff game since 2007, which happened to be against Diboll. PW has the players to pull off the upset. This is going to come down to who develops the better game plan this week. Will this game be too big for the young PW QB? I’m rooting for PW, hope they can pull off the upset
  9. You think Coach Fannin rather see Diboll or LRA next round if they win this week? I know his focus is this week but all coaches do peek ahead and look at the bracket
  10. Rain shouldn’t be a factor this Friday Diboll scoring 27 pts per game while giving up 11 points per game LRA scoring 43 pts per game while giving up 30 Common opponents: Franklin Diboll lost 28-13 LRA lost 49-28 Diboll’s 2 losses were to Franklin & Madisonville LRA’s 2 losses were to Franklin & Lorena
  11. I agree, I think Diboll has the best chance to move on to face the winner between Shepherd vs Franklin. Could be a potential rematch with Franklin if they can get by Shepherd. There’s a bit of familiarity between the Diboll and LRA since they played in 2021, but lot has changed in terms of player personnel. Diboll hopes to rely on their senior heavy defensive unit to keep them in the game. Lot of experience on that side of the ball. Diboll has seen some decent QB play but probably not as good as the LRA kid. Def will be a fun one
  12. I think Columbus QB play and line play is a notch above the rest
  13. Franklins defense is better this season than last. Their offense isn’t as dominating as last season but still has enough to make a deep run
  14. I know that Franklin and Lorena has ruled region 3 past couple of seasons but Columbus just looks strong this season compared to the rest. They have a D1 QB with a good supporting cast. They are well coached and have what it takes to win it all, I consider them the favorites.
  15. I have Columbus as the team to beat in region 3 and a championship contender
