Hey Gilmer I know we are off this week and resting getting ready for next week but the quite makes me nervous . There has been no activity about anything on here. How about some talk on how healthy we are, or how our defense is getting better, or how we plan on beating WOS in state playoff game. Ok maybe thats too much but how about some updates on anything. Like I said the quite gets me to thinking too much and with a brain like mine thats a dangerous thing. Somebody chime in.

OK Gilmer in a blowout! not really talked to a man from LE at Tractor Supply, very nice man yall got some nice people up your way. By the way he talks its going to be a tough game both ways. So good luck to both teams hope the weather is nice.I do pick Gilmer being a homie by a small amount. Good luck and be safe driving down this way.

Watched the controlled quarter scrimmage on Youtube and saw lots of mistakes on both sides. That is normal for this time of year. At the very end of the quarter Gilmer had a pass in the end zone that was a questionable call didnt matter if it was good or bad, time was nearly up and wouldnt have changed the outcome, I mean its just a scrimmage. After the clock ran out you can hear a fan yelling at the official about how bad of call it was I mean come on I know you love your team but its just a practice game. They are doing the best they can. Root your team on but do it with class and quit being a jerk about it. We hope you go far and win often. Both teams did the best they could including the refs. If you watch the scrimmage listen to him at the end you will hear him.

Gilmer still looking for a QB my thought is by now we should already have one step up. Gonna make a bad season trying to decide when we are playing games. I would try out but I am 61 and by the time I decided to hand it off or pass it it would be 4th down. Also Gilmer fans how about a 2 a day report I spend all my time in the hayfield and cant go watch. Where are all the Gilmer fans?

You have nearly got it down just a wee bit more and it will be perfect. You will need some leopard pee, a pirate patch, some eagle talons, some tiger warts, bulldog eyelashes, some cardinal poop, panther fuzz, some rough rider saddle soap, and last but not least a rabbit foot. Now bring all this to a boil and this here is where it gets really tricky, slowly and I mean slowly add some saturated Buckeye juice from 11 fresh Buckeyes now if you can still open your eyes and you aint dead you have the perfect batch of the old Tinkers Dang Hex but be aware I aint responsible for what ever happens I got scars to prove what happens if you rush this stuff. Well are we going to appoint a HC or just drag this out until no one cares anymore. Geez what is taking so long you know who you want so get er done. The guys deserve to know.

Like I said before the game, both teams have nothing to be ashamed of, both teams did good and should be proud to make it to the state final. I am glad nobody got hurt and look foward to seeing both teams next year. Yes WOS gave us all we wanted and should be proud, there was no blowout and never was going to be a blowout. I would have been happy with one more point to win. Well done WOS you are one heck of a team hope to see you back here at Jerrys world next year. Buckeyes you scared me the first half but you never gave up I am proud of every one of you also. Great game.

I agree it should be a good game. Doesn't matter who says what because we are not playing the game but our kids are. I take my hat off to both teams for making it this far. I hope both teams go home without anyone getting hurt. WOS and Gilmer you have done your school proud win or lose hold your heads up and enjoy the time of your life being in the state champ game. Everyone else who has been talking smack enjoy this week and the game. God grant you save travel to and from the game and to everyone a Merry Christmas.

If ever another team should be moving on it would be Gladewater.I called for a Gilmer win but never a blowout. I have always picked on Gladewater just because of the rival between us. I go there all the time and have worked with you folks for a long time (great people). I do believe that Gladewater is the best team we will face all year long. Keep your heads up great effort. It was a game that could have gone either way at any time. Great game that will be talked about for a long time.

Gilmer enough said, will be a good game and nobody goes home with anything to be ashamed about, two good teams way to go.

The so called move in is not a shoe in..hee hee he does have to earn his spot and it aint going to be easy. The JV QB has been looking pretty good last year. So don't think this is a sure thing we will have tryouts and the best man will win.

The special weapon has been completed. Yes it put three people in the emergency room but I have it sealed and ready for use. I will be on one of the busses driving to the game and have the proper instructions on how to administer the new and improved TDH. After taking my Grandchild to the game sat I noticed several things about our new stadium I did not like. This was my first game as usually I am working the game instead of watching it. First of all we had nearly all of Upshur county fine men in uniforms keeping people from standing around on the walkways which is a good thing but was surprised. Second of all you had to look for the general admission as it is on the very ends and very little of it. If you don't have a reserved seat you are going to sit on a end zone. Last but not least you cant hear the announcer hardly at all sounds like it coming from the field house way across the field. I was just not sure that we thought this out very well and this is just my opinion. I did notice that the crowd of students that always gang up still do, they just move around to keep from getting in trouble and have to be told to move out of the way. Oh well just some observations that I made since I was not working the game. Thought the big D played a good game and feel sorry for our boys, for next week is going to be a killer as we played sloppy ball.

To those who have not heard at the PCA vs. Gilmer game we closed the gates due to the large crowd. That's right sent everyone who came up to the gates to the visitor side right before the half. We have outgrown our new stadium already. There were some mighty unhappy fans that they had to go to the other side. looks like we put in too many reserved seats and not enough general admission. Maybe we should have gone higher with the seats and wider both. We still have way too many students just walking around and standing instead of watching the game. Had mad people leave cussing because they were not enough general admission. I think the heat helped fuel there anger as it was hot. Had some Kilgore people came thru and when they left early due to the crowd they were saying oh boy this year is going to be a good game between Kilgore and Gilmer. They didn't seem to impressed maybe they know something we don't know or maybe just wishful thinking.

Doesn't seem to be many posters this year so I have a question to ask about Gilmer. I was born in Gilmer, raised in Gilmer and still live in Gilmer area and was always told to shop at home and help out our town. so with that being said how come we can go to surrounding towns and buy our fuel cheaper? Why aren't our stations trying to compete with keeping business in Gilmer. We all know of one certain station that I will not name out of respect that is always higher than everyone in town and one day up to .21 cents higher. I know that for a fact as I drive by that station 4 times every day and have seen them jump gas prices up .12 cents at one time without a truck even showing up. This might not bother anybody else but I feel that it is price gouging. I also wonder why Gilmer does not have a movie show, pool for summer, a big family restaurant or anything else to keep the youth and adults from making that trek to Longview. Once again we send our business to surrounding towns. There is nothing short of Friday night football for anybody to do here. I spend my money either in Mt Pleasant for movies and family dining or Longview and that's a shame that it couldn't be kept at home. I know we have several eating places but I am talking about a big dining area and that we do not have just small quick food places and a few small cafe's. And concluding my gripe session why the thunder don't they put a loop around Gilmer have you seen the 3:30 to 5:00 traffic down hwy 271? I drive a bus and it is like Christmas traffic on the loop in Longview bumper to bumper through all 4 of our unsynchronized red lights. I don't know where all the traffic came from this year but its bad. Wreck this morning in front of fnb bank had a car upside down. That is the fourth wreck in that strip since school started. Anyway back to football the Hex is out again so get em boys they wont know what hit them.

So what we cant dribble and run at the same time. Everybody in Gilmer knows that basketball is just off season for football. They could care less if we win or lose. Our basketball system is a joke. Might as well forfiet and run wind sprints and watch football films. But they look cool even if they only score 8 points in a half like the other night. I say let the Jr. High team take there place or lets play dodge ball. Oh yeah team quit spiking the ball after you make it down the court it is not a TD.

Well Yea why wouldn't we . Don't you think your team will win? But what we know is we will win no thinking to it, lol good luck to yall how ever far you go. I always thought yall had a lot of class and got to know several folks from Atlanta and they were just plain good folks.
