I would hope the Fayetteville game would be played Saturday afternoon for safety reasons.

Lucas Lovejoy Loses Their Coach to SFA

Apparently the reason he retired from Westlake per Austin media was to be closer to family in DFW (son Riley is HC at Southlake Carroll). Guess the fire had not been extinguished. -

Brother is Landon Jackson, All-SEC DE at Arkansas. His father was an Aggie. A bit surprised, but happy. -
Prior to the UIL sanctioning soccer, the higher level soccer was club soccer (not affiliated with schools). In order to play for the clubs, the players agreed not to play on another team. The clubs played from early spring to late fall. The clubs agreed to let their players play for their school teams when their club was not playing. Hence, UIL adopted January to March as the season. Understand like many sports, club is the highest level of competition and where most kids earn scholarships. From Coppell Gazette - βSoccer was a major of topic at Tuesdayβs UIL meeting. The Colony head boys soccer coach Lee Weddall was relieved to see the committee reject the proposal to move soccer from a spring sport to a fall sport. Given there are just four players on his high school team that play club soccer, he felt it would have given his Cougars a leg up on other area high schools, especially those with more players that play club soccer. But from a competitive standpoint, Weddall said that would have forced players to make a tough decision. βI think it would have caused chaos with club soccer, and it would have forced the players to make a choice,β he said. βWithout hesitation, they would have chosen club. It would have devalued the high-school product.β

How about that Day guy that was discussed for A&M job. All I know there are some nervous ADs tonight, including Del Conte. -

The 4th string quarterback performed admirably in my opinion. A&M was playing their second string. A&M still has had talent on the field. They just hadnβt taken many snaps together. -

What is the story on Terry Bussey? Is he still solid to A&M or is he wavering? -

Was not aware of the SEC rule. Curious how it impacts Texas & Oklahoma in this transition year as we are technically Big12. -

Interesting thought to take one step further. Assume Oklahoma is in the final four and Dillon Gabriel enters the transfer portal and leaves the team. Another scenario⦠USC is in final four and Williams opts out of the bowl games to prepare for the NFL. Ultimately, you have to live by the teams selected. -

It is a sign of the times. If you are not 1 or 2 on the depth chart after your sophomore year and think you can play, you move on. The one portal entry that surprised me was Catalon. My guess he didnβt bond with the team. -

I guess the key is the message carved on the carcass as to the connection to the game. I suspect there is a tie in. -

I understand your comments and make no apologies for for the those that blame their loss on others. If you go back and read this thread as the game was being played, the only person complaining about the officials was a Carthage fan. My point is both fan bases have idiots. I suspect if the outcome was opposite, Carthage fans would blame the refs. Why? Because the refs let their hankies get stuck in their pants for both teams. What I saw today were two evenly matched teams play a game either could have won. PG fans may be sore losers, but it takes away from high school athletics to bad mouth your opponent. Since the end on the game, this thread has been one unsportsmanlike penalty after another. Having enjoyed Scott Surratt and Darren Preston while they were at Texas High, I am happy for what they have accomplished for your community. Good luck going forward.
