  1. The thing that pops into my head from this list is Tatum. Will 2023 be his 1998 (Talley) or 2005 (McGee) type year? Talley and McGee had good years but their teams significantly underperformed. What does he do in his last year versus Talley and McGee? In my opinion, if he has a stellar year and the team meets or exceeds expectations, that will give him something neither of the two greatest RBs in Lobo history had. This is what I am watching for.
  2. Yep remember the schedule from last year. Guess they don’t mind being so obvious.
  3. LOL at these brackets...wonder why whitehouse, Longview, and rockwall in the same pool.....hmmmmm.....
  4. @Gametyme Very happy for this young man. Incredible talent that hopefull will have some help this year. He is the #2 RB in our district in my opinion. I know we have some crazy talent at RB in the district, but think his ceiling is endless.
  5. Man...you definitely know something I don't. I feel we lost too much and are unproven at QB. If that is the case, then we would be the better team.
  6. I definitely trust your insight on them. I know you have our defense over their offense. It will definitely be something to watch. If Lufkin is back as you and Stepp think, this could be the strongest district in almost any classification.
  7. That would be a heck of a win. I actually have Lancaster behind Aledo at 1 and 2 in preseason for 5AD1. I also give them the edge over LV in district. This should be the most complete Lancaster team we have ever played. If Lufkin has gained consistency, this district is going to be murderers row.
  8. Very proud of my Lobos this season. This is just great coaching versus elite coaching.
  9. Completely agree that the key for us winning is slowing down their QB but don’t think he can be shut down. Also, Aledo not having the stamina is nonsense. That is one of the program defining characteristics for them. This will be a team that will keep stride with us all game when it comes to stamina/endurance. Longview wins but more in the 7-10 pt range…but no turnovers, limit penalties, and come out on fire
  10. Reminds me a lot of the QB we faced for LT in 2009. Kid was a field general and irritating at keeping their drives alive.
  11. PE beat Aledo, 5AD1 state semi finalist, lost by 3 to SOC who will win 5AD2 and beat China Spring who will win 4AD1. Very solid private school team who just won state in largest classification and I believe it is 4 in a row for them.
  12. I am sure John King would wear week old dirty underwear on his head if he thought it would give him an edge over Aledo.
  13. TISD seriously needs to go after Buck James at Bryant…dude just won 5th straight 7A title in Arkansas…played Longview close last year
  14. Agree. Thinking we win by 1 or 2 scores (7-10 pts) would be appropriate....thinking we blow them out is not rational. This has the potential to be the toughest game since Denton Ryan 2020. I know for a fact the team and coaching staff recognize this, the fans need to as well.
  15. I'll finish posting my thoughts later. For me, Longview will have to play its cleanest and best game of the year to win.
  16. Lol at anyone who thinks this will be a blowout. We are about to face arguably the top program in Texas at any level. World class and wizard of a head coach. They have shown time and time again it doesn’t matter who is on the other side of the ball. They look slower, not as athletic, blah, blah, blah…..so did Highland Park, Lake Travis, Austin Westlake, and other elite programs but we still lose…. I can guarantee you that the Aledo coach has our defense broken apart and will exploit every single problem we have….their offense is going to be patient and execute at a high level…that O-line should be as good as TV…we absolutely can’t start slow or give them a bunch of turnovers…
  17. In my opinion no. If the holding would have been called I honestly think Longview holds them to 1-2 scores and much less yardage.
  18. If we play Aledo it will be the best offensive line we will see all year
  19. Congrats to CHS Sentinels. The ETCS Chargers which is a home school 6 man team beat Christian Heritage, 72-22, early in the year. They also went on to win an independent league title.
  20. Really would like to see more of the BH and Reedy games…it seems TV can be hot and cold…want to see if it is a product of the BH or Reedy defense. if those two defenses caused that many problems, Lobos are going to create havoc…just have to stay disciplined and on our assignments
