Dallas is 540-326-153 in the previous 1,020 games. The Dallas Stars have 210 man games lost so far this season. The Stars had 94 all of last season. The Stars' 4-0 loss against San Jose last Sunday gives the Stars a 18-9-0 record against the Pacific Division. The Stars fended off losing their 5th straight game this past Friday. Dallas hasn't lost five games in a row since 2003. The shut out by the Stars was their first shut out since February 10th against Anaheim. Defenseman Mattias Norstrom left the game with a lower body injury and did not return against Columbus. He was injured in a collision in front of the net. He is listed as day-to-day. The Stars penalty kill is 13 of 14 in their last two games. Philippe Boucher's two assists on the night gave him 45 points, breaking the career high of 43 points he set last season. Nagy's assist on Zubov's 2nd period goal against Columbus snapped a four game pointless streak. Jere Lehtinen's assist on Hagman's 3rd period goal against Columbus gives him 10 points in his last 12 games. Jussi Jokinen's assist on Hagman's 3rd period goal against Columbus gives him 12 points in his last 14 games. When scoring first, the Stars seem to just take an extra edge. Dallas is 27-7-1 when scoring first. That record is 4th best in the NHL. When giving up the first goal, Dallas is 12-16-4...for 12th best in the league. When games are decided by one goal, the Stars look to be one of the best teams. Dallas's 20-7-5 in one goal games is 4th best in the NHL. On December 6th, Dallas saw one of the players that made the Stars they were today retire. Joe Nieuwendyk was forced to retire, due to back problems, from the Florida Panthers. Nieuwendyk won three Stanley Cups, one with Calgary (1989), one with Dallas (1999), and his last with New Jersey (2003). Tom Hick's remarks after the retirement..."Joe was a great player for us. We'll have his jersey hanging in the rafters here soon." The Dallas Stars are now 6-4 in shootouts this season, having beaten Anaheim in Anaheim on Oct. 15 (2-1), Minnesota in Dallas on Dec. 2 (3-1), Los Angeles in Dallas on Dec. 16 (1-0), Edmonton in Edmonton on Jan. 4th (2-0), Minnesota in Minnesota on Jan. 20th (3-2|9 Rounds), and San Jose in San Jose on Jan. 30th (3-2). The Stars lost to Vancouver in Vancouver on Jan. 3rd (2-1|6 Rounds), Pittsburgh in Dallas on Jan. 26th (1-0), Minnesota in Minnesota on Feb. 17th (1-0), and to Columbus in Dallas on March 2nd (1-0). Dallas now is 17-5 all time during the shoot outs, going 12-1 last year. Jussi Jokinen is now 14 of 22 during the shoot outs. Dallas is 96-11-9 when leading after the 1st Period since Dave Tippett took over as Stars head coach four seasons ago. The Stars are 19-2-1 this season. Dallas is 20-0 in 06-07 when scoring atleast four goals, and 13-0-0 when allowing one goal. The Stars also are 32-9-4 record when allowing three goals or less. The Stars will play a total of 9 back-to-back series in 2006-07. The Stars are 13-10-3 in games included in back-to-backs during the 06-07 season. The Stars are 4-7-2 in the first game while 9-3-1 in the second. Since 1996-97, the Stars rank second in home wins (249), second in total wins (454) and fourth in playoff wins (55). Only Detroit has more wins than Dallas in home wins (264) and total wins (462). New Jersey (64), Detroit (69), and Colorado (75) all are ahead of Dallas in the most playoff wins since 96-97. Here are some just random records about your Dallas Stars. When scoring a PP goal: 30-11-2 | When not scoring a PP goal: 9-13-3 Not allowing a PP goal: 21-10-1 | Allowing a PP goal: 18-14-4 Day Games (before 5 pm): 6-2-0 | Night Games 33-21-5 Milestones Marty Turco's 3-0 win over Columbus was his 167th career victory. The win continues to push Turco past Ed Belfour's 160 career wins with the Dallas Stars. Marty Turco became the Dallas Stars most winningest goaltender in franchise history on January 20th against Minnesota. Mike Modano's goal against the St.Louis Blues was the 498th goal of his career. Modano is just 5 goals shy of breaking Joe Mullen's 502 goal record of most goals scored in a career by US Born players. Modano's goal and assist against St.Louis picked him up 2 points. The points were his 1,211th and 1,212 point of his career. Modano is the 42nd player all-time to reach 1,200 points. Modano is 21 points behind Phil Housley for first in most points in a career by US Born players. Sergei Zubov is 66 points away from tying Sorje Salming for 2nd place all-time in points scored by a European Defensemen. Marty Turco picked up his fifth shutout of the year against Columbus on March 9th. Turco passed Ed Belfour with his 28th career shut out for most shut outs with the organization. Boucher's 3rd period goal against St.Louis was his 18th of the year. Boucher's 18 goals gives him a career high. He's one away from the franchise record. 6. March 10th, Vs Oklahoma City Shreveport Times Link Wildfong gives Bugs 400th franchise winOvertime thriller goes the home team’s way Roy Lang III - On the weekend when the franchise named it 10th Anniversary Team, three members of the 10-man squad gave the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs a benchmark victory. Captain Dan Wildfong took a feed from Chris Brassard to score 1:07 into overtime to lift the Mudbugs to a 2-1 win over the Oklahoma City Blazers at CenturyTel Center. “I really didn’t thing I was going to be able to play tonight, but Doctor Karnes fixed me up,” said Wildfong, as he was greeted by wife, Kelly, outside the locker room. Veteran netminder Ken Carroll made 26 saves and came within 3:05 of perfection en route to the 400th victory in franchise history. “I was a goalies’ duel,” said Wildfong, who is battling a bevy of injuries. “Kenny played outstanding. He made some great saves and (Oklahoma City goaltender, Sean) Connors made some sick saves.” The win keeps the Mudbugs in the driver’s seat in the Northeast Division. Bossier-Shreveport (37-14-6) remains three points ahead of Memphis, who scored a come-from-behind victory overtime victory over Youngstown on Saturday. With seven games remaining in the regular season, the Mudbugs are still three points back of Colorado and Laredo in the race for the league’s top overall seed. The Mudbugs franchise stands 400-188-64 all time as a monster interconference game against Laredo looms Tuesday at CTC. If the playoffs began today, the Mudbugs and Blazers would faceoff in the first round. Wildfong, Brassard and Carroll were voted to the 10th Anniversary Team, released Friday, by the fans. Current head coach Scott Muscutt and assistant Trevor Buchanan, were also voted to the team. Muscutt removed his name from consideration after the vote. “Fonger is going to need some down time,” Muscutt said. “Hopefully we can give that to him here before much longer. There is a lot to be said for a veteran scoring that goal. A rookie might go in and force a shot in overtime. Fonger showed the kind of composure and patience it takes. It was a great move by Rusty.” Wildfong took the pass from Brassard in the slot, showed a slight deke to Connors, before skating past him and slipping it behind him from near the goal line. Connors was stellar all evening and his 43-save effort helped earn the Blazers (31-17-8) a point. “You want to make the other goalie save-for-save,” Carroll said. “He made some unbelievable saves. Honestly, I sat in the third period and said, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe he got that.’ “My hat goes off to him. He deserved a better fate than that.” It took more than 40 minutes to solve Connors, but the Abbott brothers took cracked the scoreboard early in the third period. Jeremy Downs sent a great pass to Chris Abbott, who moved in on Connors 2-on-1 with brother, Cam. Cam took the pass in the slot and poked it past Connors with a backhand 1:10 in to the third period. Cam was less than 24 hours removed from a scary incident against Youngstown. The rookie took a slap shot to the chin, which required 13 stitches. Carroll stood roughly 3 minutes from Central Hockey League history when Ryan Watson chipped in a rebound out of a scramble in front of the Mudbugs’ netminder. The goal with 3:05 left prevented Carroll from garnering his 22nd career shutout, which would have tied him with Rod Branch at No. 1. “The two points are important,” Carroll said. “But it would have been nice to get the shutout at home. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t it doesn’t.” Carroll nearly had control of the loose puck in front of his crease, but a crushing hit by Chris Gustafson cleared out a Blazers attacker and the puck. Watson calmly lifted the puck into the net and sparked a wild celebration among his teammates. Carroll didn’t see much work in the first two periods, but was outstanding in the third period. He made a point-blank save on Graham Dearle with 6:15 left and, seconds later, stopped Dallas Flaman, who skated in from the left circle only to be stoned by the Mudbugs veteran goaltender. Both goaltenders were spectacular from the opening faceoff. Connors made five saves in one early Mudbugs power play (10 in the first period) while Carroll stopped several Blazers chances from point-blank range. The Mudbugs carried most of the scoring opportunities in the first period (16 shots to eight). Referee Steve Cruickshank made his first visit to CTC in quite some time. He is scheduled to call Tuesday’s game against the Laredo Bucks. The Bucks will come to town as the No. 1 seed in the Central Hockey League’s Southern Conference. Laredo currently owns an 11-game winning streak – the second best in the CHL this season (Colorado, 15). The Mudbugs and Bucks met in the 2004 and 2006 President’s Cup Finals. Laredo won both series. The second period showcased more of the same stellar goaltending. Connors faced another 15 shots and made an amazing kick save on a short-handed slap shot from Joe Ori midway through the period. He finished the frame with a pad save on a Chris Gustafson slapper to keep the game scoreless. After two periods, the Mudbugs had outshot Oklahoma City 31-14. Note: Mudbugs defenseman Quade Lightbody went down against the boards in the first period. He was standing on the Mudbugs’ bench, but never returned to the game. Muscutt called his veteran “bumped and bruised” after Saturday’s game.

  11. Just a couple of notes before tonight's game... A win tonight would give the bugs their 400th all-time regular season victory. Ken Carroll will start in net tonight for the Bugs. Defenseman Konrad Brand, who suffered an apparent knee injury when he crashed into the boards last night, is out tonight for the Bugs.
  12. He's been giving a 22 game suspension.
  13. Current teams headed to the playoffs in the 2006-2007 season (in order of teams clinched)... Laredo Bucks - Central Hockey League Corpus Christi Rayz - Central Hockey League
  14. Updated all the current teams (obviously excluding this season) and have started on the defunct teams. Haven't decided if I'm going to put the logos of each team in the post or not...If I am, I'm just going to do a big banner. Would be stupid to just go one by one and make a logo for all 36 teams. If I were to do anything like that, I'd just do it for the current teams.
  15. March 9th, Vs Youngstown Shreveport Times Link Rookie 'will be fine' as Bugs stop Youngstown’s win streak at 8Bossier-Shreveport dominant in 3-1 victory at CenturyTel Center Roy Lang III - Cam Abbott wasn’t around to hear a much-deserved round of applause, but his time on the ice was enough to send the CenturyTel Center into pandemonium. Abbott scored 19 seconds into Friday’s game against Youngstown, assisted on his brother Chris’ game-winner and helped the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs defeat Youngstown 3-1. The victory stopped the SteelHounds’ win streak at eight games and gave the Mudbugs a little breathing room in the division. The news wasn’t all good for Cam, who suffered a nasty injury when he was struck point-blank in the jaw with a slap shot midway through the third period. The rookie was still in the dressing room getting stitched up 20 minutes after Friday’s final horn. “He got a few zippers right on the bottom of the chin,” Chris Abbott said. “He’ll be fine, I don’t know how many stitches he got, but he’s got a couple-inch gash there.” With 8:45 left in the game, Cam was hit when a Youngstown defender wheeled around and attempted to clear the puck out of the neutral zone in front of the Mudbugs’ bench. He was visibly shaken by the blow was immediately ushered to the dressing room. Friday’s victory kept the Mudbugs (36-14-6) out front in the Central Hockey League’s Northeast Division. Bossier-Shreveport leads Memphis by three points and the SteelHounds (31-17-9) by seven. Tonight, Bossier-Shreveport hosts Oklahoma City, currently the No. 5 seed in the Northern Conference and the team the Mudbugs would play in the first round of the postseason if the season ended today. A Mudbugs loss Friday would have created a log jam atop the Northeast. “Tonight was a huge, huge game,” said Youngstown coach Kevin Kaminski, whose team travels to Memphis tonight. “It could have put us back three points. Now it’s a different story. Now we have ground to catch up again.” The SteelHounds avoided their first shutout since March 17, 2006 when Matt Hanson scored on the power play with 4:23 left. “We didn’t skate. We didn’t initiate. We taken take the play like we have been. We were back on our heels,” Kaminski said. Mudbugs rookie goaltender John DeCaro made 38 saves for his 20th victory this season. Friday couldn’t have started any better for the Mudbugs. Just 19 seconds into the game, Roberts couldn’t control a rebound from a fluttering shot by Jason Basile at the point and Cam Abbott collected the rebound and his 21st goal of the season. The Mudbugs took a 2-0 lead late in the third period when Bossier-Shreveport’s incredible twins struck again, showing the unbelievable awareness that has endeared them to the home fans. Cam Abbott sent a no-look pass behind the goal line to Chris Abbott in the slot. A one-timer gave SteelHounds goalie Brad Roberts no chance. Roberts played well early despite the two-goal deficit, but DeCaro was on top of his game early. Youngstown failed on three power-play opportunities in the first period. DeCaro did his part in the first 20 minutes with 14 saves. The Mudbugs continued to pressure Roberts in front of the net in the second period. Karlis Zirnis’ persistence paid off with his 17th goal of the season less than five minutes in. Youngstown had 43 seconds to work on the 5-on-3 midway through the second period, but a hooking penalty by SteelHounds defenseman Jeff Alcombrack nullified the advantage 35 seconds in. The Mudbugs successfully defended the remaining seconds of 4-on-3. Note: Brian Sutherland was taken off the ice with 6:22 remaining after suffering a cut. He returned moments later.
