Slikk it has been that way for a few years now. Even when we had Teric and Jessie I thought HS had more talent overall. They went up 14-0 before we even broke a sweat and still managed to lose. New coach Chris Edwards is the unknown in this one. I believe he will be adding a new determination. It will be very interesting and a close game. Pewitt 42 ND 12

I think Dekalb will pull a shocker and win in a close one.

Pewitt's line is probably their strength. They only lost one, now of course it was an all-stater, but he is being replaced with another quality young lineman. I think you will be inpressed with the new 77 and wonder if Hightower just got younger.

After watching last night's scrimmage between D'field and EF. I am going to have to rethink my thoughts. Top 3 teams will be Pewitt, Hughes Springs, & New Boston and it can be in any order. 4. Hooks 5. LK 6. QC 7. Redwater 8. Daingerfield I have never seen such a waste of time. Center couldn't even snap the ball, boys were sitting on the bench not caring, & crowd was laughing at them. Sad day for me.

It looked like Pewitt was a little shell shocked with how Dekalb precisely ran the spread during the controlled part of the scrimmage but quickly adapted and shut it down in the live half version except for the one long pass play. Overall I was impressed with how our Offense & defense performed.

I have to agree with Slikk. Pewitt vs D'Field at D'field will be a good one.

Don't really have one team that will beat them, maybe Daingerfield since it is at home. But my prediction is base upon our young team and Huckabay's tradition of steam rolling into the playoffs.

Pewitt will go 11-2.

I think this is a great trade for the Rangers. They get to unload someone for a sure fire prospect. Texas needs as many prospects for future dealings.

This should be an interesting year for the district that is for sure. Pewitt will suprise a few people but again I think that is almost an understatement these days. D'field will again have the talent just don't know if they can hold it together. HS will always be in the mix. NB should be in it with just the numbers that they have to pick from. LK will be ok as long as the Gaston kid doesn't get hurt. Hooks will need to get going early in my opinion. QC & Redwater will be on the outside looking in. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds. May the best team win and win with respect.

Have to add J. Hurndon from D'field on the list of athletes in whatever sport. Just needs some help.

No D'field won in 83, lost finals in 84, & won again in 85. Also the list in the previous comment includes all players who played in the nfl not just the 83 team. Eric Everett & David whitmore were on the 83 team.

You should of had to play for Daingerfield right after them. I graduated in 89 and only lost 4 games all of my high school career. People thought we were the worst team in history when my Jr. year we went 9-2-1. Tied Henderson(4A) to mess up the 55 regular season wins in a row, next week lost to Carthage (4A) with a missed field goal, then lost to L-K in the area round.

Midland did with Cedric Benson.

I'm glad Jessie is there but I wonder if they have seen him play LB'er any? That guy can light people up.

I was shocked NB didn't do any better myself. Hooks dominated the boys and Pewitt dominated the girls.

So how fast is Erin's time in the hurdles in regards to those around the state? Hated that she got hurt last year and missed out.

Cory Richardson is the boy from Daingerfield you are thinking about. Freakishly fast. Still playing baseball the last time I heard.

Trust me D'Field has the athletes to hang with anyone. Is Hurndon playing? I'd put him up against anyone when it comes to overall athlete in the state.
