I watched Argyle vs. Celina and I thought early on Celina looked every bit as good. Didn't their QB get hurt in that game?

I understand that PP is a great program but I just looked at their SOS and scores. I was expecting to be impressed. Didn't PP lose to Pottsboro and Farmersville finishing 3rd? Commerce beat Farmerville and then lost to Mineola. Farmersville got beat by Rains who I know Mineola is better than. Am I missing something or is Mineola just not getting any respect because well they are Mineola?

From EF: Go to I-20 head West past Lindale to Highway 110 North, take Hwy 110 N. to Van. In Van stay on Hwy 110 (Main St) until you get to the blinking red light at the 4 way stop (its the only light in town), take a right (North) on Hwy 110 towards Grand Saline. The stadium is on your left (West side of Hwy 110) just past the high school. For eats I recommend The Farm House on FM 314 (S.Oak St) near I-20 or Soulman's BBQ on I-20 service road near FM 314. Both are near the Love's truck stop at FM 314 & I-20. If your going to either of these first just stay on I-20 until you get to the FM 314 exit. DQ, Subway, Carl's Jr. and Sonic are also close to I-20. There is also a Mexican food place and The Dinner Bell which are downtown on Main Street.

DOB, I couldn't agree more about the competitive advantage moving back in favor of this style of offense. So many teams run the spread these days that defenses have adjusted to it by using smaller more athletic players which are not suited to stopping smash mouth offenses. In addition defenses rarely see it now and its almost impossible to simulate in practice. Unless your absolutely loaded with athletes the spread is just to reliant on one player (the QB). One injury or just a bad game can be difficult to overcome. It is not realistic to expect most schools to have more than one really good passing QB on the roster. In fact most smaller schools will have years without even one standout QB. IMO the advantages of a slot t, single/double wing or dead t offense outweigh it's faults at this point. This should be a good game and I would be surprised if Kennedale's D just has their way with Athens. I do think Athens weakness is their defense though.

If the 4th place team is Paris give me a bye....lol

For a guy that is tall and lanky Paris's QB is a tough runner between the tackles. I didn't think he had the body type to do what he did last night. The little film I watched of him was deceiving. He can play lol.

Henderson beat us last time we played so Van posters aren't going to talk to much smack about Henderson. If memory serves me it was some guy named greeneggsandham and a poster from Grand Saline. Lion, when Van posters support their team it's hype? We had a great season and won district. We don't vote on the AP poll or Padilla. We were and still are proud of those young men. You should also note that Van posters are handling this like they should. Giving credit to Paris, not bashing players or the coaching staff. Again take notes on how it's done.

Ha ha some of you people truly have issues. One look at the box score will tell you Van was a good football team that lost to another good football because they turned the ball over. Paris caused most of those and deserved to win the game. Congrats to Paris! You played a great game. Good luck the rest of the way. My son is a senior so this was his last game. I enjoyed every minute. After ten years on Smoaky I'm done for a while.
