could not make the Frankston-WR game but saw Elkhart-Garrison (24-14 Garrison) Thought Elkhart played a good game, Garrison did not impress me, I expected more after reading the board the last few weeks. WR by 20.

Sometimes a 4-2 is stronger than a 6-0 squad, this is one of those times. Nothing wrong with 6-0, but who did you get it against. White Oak by 14

You could be right, but Elkhart lost to a pedestrian Buffalo squad that have played a very weak non-district schedule. I'll take WR by 20+

I don't have a problem with Tiger1995 supporting his team. Arp is a great team and will represent our district as the big school, I think Kirbyville is a little bit better. You don't beat perennial powers Diboll and Jasper, then dismantle a very good Crockett squad that is the athletic equivalent of Arp, without becoming a favorite to win AA. That just an opinion and not meant to disrespect Arp. I know if the game between the two happens, yours truly will be there.

That's the problem we have, sometimes we are so provincial. Arp is from our region of East Texas and I consider them and Daingerfield the big dogs, but Kirbyville is an unknown to many in the region. I picked Kirbyville to win at the start of the season and will stick with the pick especially after their demolition of Crockett. They have beaten some good teams and would go quite a ways in AAA, from which they came this year. Kirbyville, Arp and Daingerfield are the 3 best in East Texas AA right know. I know that Kirbyville and Arp will more than likely go division 1. What is the situation on Daingerfield, I or II.

I picked them to win state before the year started. Have a lot of kids back from team that lost in AAA playoffs to China Spring( I believe). I know they beat Jasper, I think the other win was Diboll. Someone correct me if I have the wrong teams.

1989 2-A state championship game between Groveton and Lorena at Kyle Field. Temperature was LOW single digits with ice and snow everywhere. Wind chill seemed to freeze your face on contact. Even with my insulated coveralls, felt like I was shirtless. God I barely remember the game 20 years later, but will never forget that cold.
