I agree. I thought when we cut it to 4 we were going to pull it out. Winnsboro kept their composure and pulled it out though.

We chose to shoot a lot of 3’s tonight and they weren’t sinking. It was a terrible shooting night. That’s the first time I’ve seen a full court press all season and to be honest it didn’t look great. With the way the refs were letting them play I would have went to it sooner as well and been face guarding them the whole time. Hats off to Winnsboro. They played great. #1 for Sabine surpassed 1000 points for his career as a junior a few weeks ago. The kid can shoot. Tonight was not his night.

Yeah I don’t think the offense Gilbert really wants to run has the qb running so much, but that’s the position we’ve been in the last couple years.

Sabine is not incorporated. Half the area has a Gladewater address and the other half has a Kilgore address.

Maybe if he wasn’t gone fishing the last 2 years he’d remember. I remember how many times we’ve beaten GW the last 100 years.

I think we’ll have more depth in the coming years. The younger grades have lots of kids that play.

It’s the big plays we have to do a better job of limiting. Most of it is just being disciplined on defense and not getting out of position. We can’t make up for being out of position. Another thing is making a big play when the opportunity arises. Example: Not making the interception late against Atlanta. We win the game with an interception there and start off district with a big road win. Who knows how the rest of district plays out with some confidence on our side instead of a heartbreaking loss.

Patterson will be RB1 for Sabine this year. He is faster than Silvertooth and catches the ball very well. We’ll see how he holds up play both ways. I’m not sure what the running back position will look like behind him though. We have to get better on the other side of the ball though. Speed is containable. There are plenty of teams around the state that do it so no reason we can’t too.

You know I’m just messing. That kid was a fun to watch even though it was a long night for us.

Sabine plays Arp Tuesday at UT Tyler at 7:30.
