Common core or old school?

Do not agree with most of it because I have always held the belief that a person can make research show what the researcher wants it to show. How about "coaching" the kids at halftime through adjustments etc? Oh, and by the way, these are kids you are coaching, not someone getting paid.

He ran the single wing and made huge improvements and the playoffs. Now he is abandoning the wing in favor of the spread.

Had a coach tell me not long ago that it did not matter the caliber of athletes, you could run the spread with any kids. Yea, I think he is in quality control now with some small canadian college.

If you can, read some material that Grant Teaff wrote. He is all about character and coaching the correct way.

And running a simple time consuming offense like the wing t or double wing helps alot also,and not some, run a play every 5 seconds offense.

You are assuming all the youth coaches know the correct way to teach the basic fundamentals of baseball. On the other side of the coin is the theory that the kids burn out by the time they get to hjgh school

Sometimes the community coaches dont want common sense. I agree about benbow. Heard that he runs old school offense. A good decision based on your info about the dragons. He can build from that, but you cannot always build from the new stuff. Got to learn to block and tackle first.

Neither is running the offense that gives the kids the best chance to win and sustain a program. Also, dont hate on the coach who coaches what he knows best
