Gilmer has always had the talent, before Traylor took over the best players didn't always play. He changed that and I hope it stays that way. Buckeye8 is right in wanting to know why Lawhorn doesn't play more? I know Ward is hurt but he hasn't been hurt the whole season and he is really good. RealBuckeye is also right that a certain offensive lineman gets whooped on a regular basis. I really do not want to see us go back to a program that lets parents and politics play a role in who starts and plays. This is what happens in most small towns and it is a factor in why they always are just average teams. We haven't been average in 15 years and I do not want us to go back to being average. If a really good player is sitting on the bench behind a kid that he is clearly better than, it won't be long before said player quits altogether and all his friends will join him. When that happens the Buckeyes will be just another team.

Careful, if you do not have glowing praise for the coaching staff you may get called an idiot. BadWolf is 100% correct, Traylor is gone and it shows.

Lack of execution is on the coaching staff, There has been poor execution, confusion, and mental mistakes all season that aren't getting cleaned up and it doesn't look like they will be. These are things that were not tolerated during the Jeff Traylor era. I guess we are just spoiled....

Outcoached is right, our passing game isn't very good in dry weather much less rainy conditions. Just RUN the ball and run screens.

I sat through the game against Mabank but the thing I remember was a couple two rows in front of us had a baby that couldn't have been 6 months old. I kept thinking that they had to be the dumbest parents ive ever seen. Hopefully they didn't reproduce anymore....

michealmyers is right, there is zero threat of a downfield passing game right now and that will be what gets us beat in the playoffs. The qb has a hard time hitting receivers further than 5 yards downfield and when he does they are often dropped so it isn't all on the qb. I support the Buckeyes but the fact remains that there is ZERO threat of a downfield pass and that makes it that much harder to run the ball. Criticize me all you want but I am speaking the truth.

Just because a kid has one or two years left doesn't mean he shouldn't be starting. The best should play regardless of age or how long someone has waited for their turn.

I'm not Bashing Spears, just saying that Rice looks to be the better qb and I am not alone. Wouldn't it make sense to start Rice and have a seasoned qb with experience next year? I also think that Boyd should be used on offense only in certain situations like if the game is on the line or 4th and short etc. Any team that has a decent passing game can beat us right now, Why would anyone try to run on us when the passing lanes are wide open? Surratt is smart enough to throw the ball on us and make us have to beat them through the air....which we can't right now with spears at the helm.

Carthage wins because of better coaching, Rice should be starting and Ward should be the starting RB. Maybe after the Longhorns fire Strong and staff Traylor will come home and get the program back where it should be. It is going downhill and fast here in Gilmer.

Why does Turner insist on starting Spears over Rice? These aren't the same Buckeyes from the last 15 years that we have gotten used to.

These clowns from the south will be all gone in a few days after Gilmer gives them the worst beating they have ever had. Some fool is saying that they won't score 21 on wos, foolish talk. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see 21 in the first quarter. The Buckeye defense may be better than yours as well. I know we have 3 big time D1 players on D, may end up being 5 or 6 if you count the others.

This is the funniest thing i have read all day, WOS may have speed but they will NOT be able to match Gilmers speed or athleticism.

That bunch from setxsports are a confident lot, they are all picking WOS to beat the Buckeyes. They claim to have the best defense in the state? I doubt they are better than Gladewaters defense but they sure seem to think so. One of them even claimed that their offense was juast as good as Gilmer and their defense was a whole lot better. Haha, they will find out soon enough
