Not sure if anyone has brought this up but Carthage head baseball coach Jim Goldman was fired/demoted two weeks ago by athletic director/ head football coach Scott Surratt. Goldman lead the team in 2009 to state championship, no less than 2-3 rounds deep every year, ~80% winning percentage.....Thoughts,comments, concerns?

Honest to god, in all seriousness. The 3-0 loss to Hallsville and 11-7 loss to Henderson is a whole different ballgame than the end of the year when Carthage was beating Andrews and Giddings. Carthage's lineup was different, the players were peaking, and the kinks were all worked out. I'm not stating that Carthage would have beat them but those losses were a key stepping stone to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in 2009. Different situation and in my mind and different team from the beginning to the end of the year.

Without a doubt in my mind the best TEAM is '09. Talent Wise the list of greats is just too crazy. Pure legends on the '90, '94, and '05 team. The worst TEAM but the best talent, '07. I'm not dogging '07 at all, but they had what it took and then some. but they couldn't hold it together. '09 wasn't the most talented by far but man what passion for the game they had. Freakin teamwork.

Yea the football, track is a easier combo. If you have some state caliber WR or DB or RB, there is your track team But like the 3 Major boys sports football, Baseball, and Basketball. I know i might catch heck for saying 3 major but thats what im wondering. I heard a player say that the coach said it had only been done 3 times. (baseball and foootball)

Did you win a state title????? HA. This team was underrated from day 1. They faced so much adversity throught the whole year and Carthage people know what im talking bout. People said they had no pitching and no hitting. well they proved them wrong. This team played with more heart than any team ive EVER been around. Carthage tradition never left and just because they didnt make it to the ship the last couple years doesnt mean they werent successful. CONGRATS on the SECOND title this year! And for all these people saying bad stuff and dogging on them, get the heck off here! STATE CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
