  1. I had the priviege of coaching Matt for 2 years and enjoyed watching him compete in every sport he played. Matt was the type of kid everyone loves to coach. He seemed to bring a good attitude and work ethic to practice everyday. I am very happy for him and his accomplishments and wish him well in his attempts in playing baseball in the bigs.
  2. Anyone know of any powerlifting meets that are still available to get into on either the 7th or 14th of Feb? I need one more meet to round out my schedule.

  4. There are many mixed opinions in this game and both teams seem to be on a roll. I believe this game will be decided by a touchdown. I give the edge to LO by 7 in this one 35 - 28.
  5. I think GS pulls this one out by the score of 28 - 14.
  6. I know Lone Oak beat Winnsboro and Winnsboro beat Caddo. So I take it the winner of the Lone Oak and Caddo game is the number one team in the small school division.
  7. Thanks for the update. Looking at the current talent pool on defense it seems Texas will be stacked for the next few years to come.
  8. Amen to that. Seriously do the Cowboys not ever say anything to him about that, do some extra conditioning, fine him or something. That is rediculous! Especially when we are inside the 10 and he does it. I am tired of the terrible rule changes we have. Seems some rules need more work than an offensive guy using a stiff arm (ex the tuck rule).
  9. Marion Barber is now the starting running back and Felix Jones is taking over for Julious Jones in Seattle. Combine that to an improved secondary and bringing in Campo to help out there as a coach, it should help Dallas out this year. This should improve the defense to one of the top defenses in the league. If the offense does as good as last year finishing out in the top 3 it will make Dallas tougher to beat this year. Even though on paper they seem better this year I still would like to know what some of your predictions are. I think 13-3 is possible again but injuries and tough teams in the NFL East could cause them to loose another game or two.
  10. I agree as well. The addition of the secondary is a very good as well as the new backs. I am really glad for the contract extensions too. Barber will get a chance now to show everyone what kind of back he really is getting 20 carries a game instead of 10 or so. Newman has been a good corner ever sense he came into the league. He does not put up great numbers because QB's do not pass his way as often. The addition of another great corner will really make it difficult to pass the ball down the sidelines.
  11. I read this article over the weekend and was upset just with the headline. Is it just me or is anyone else tired of every time the Cowboys have a player that does something they want to make a new rule about it or in this case enforce. The Eric Williams Rule - No head slaps The Emmitt Smith Rule - No taking your helmet off on the field The Michael Irving Rule - No pushing off a defender The Roy Williams Rule - No Horse Collar Tackles And Now The Marion Barber Rule - No stiff arms I am sure I left one or two off the last as well. Defense has a method of tackling taken away and now we give them a line an easier chance of tackling. If you get pushed to the turf by the ball carrier so what should have hit him lower like you are suppose to tackle not up high. Give me a break with all these rules. No other team has more than one rule adjustment for them I bet.
  12. Thanks for the update. Thinking back I remember now that Jammer was selected before Williams. Looked it up online and Jammer was 5th and Williams was 8th. Hopefully with the improved secondary Williams will not have to cover as much and he can do more of the hard hits he was known for in college. That being said he still needs to prove he can make it as a safety in this league to most of the Cowboy Fans.
  13. Hope the Horns can keep up the momentum they displayed over the weekend. Nice to see the bats starting to heat up. Need to make it out this year unlike the last 2 years of hosting to get beat out in the first round.
  14. It is very difficult to argue against VY being the best QB of college football. He did a lot of things that may never be done again. I like to watch system QB's pass for a lot of yards, not saying just any QB can go in there and have stats like that, but until one of them goes on to the NFL and does a good job it is hard to put them up in the class of best all time college QB's. VY did not have the best arm in College but I bet he was the hardest QB to come up with a defensive game plan against. If you put too many in the box he would find an open target and if you played too many in the secondary he would wait for people to get down field and just take off with the ball. There are a few other great college QB's that went on to be good players in the pros. Joe Montana, John Elway, and Roger Staubach come to mind.
  15. Well married or not married she has been a reason for some minor lack of focus during a few games and it just so happens it is the games she is in attendance. That does give a little concern IMO. Hopefully it is just a small non impacting thing this year.
