5A D1 R2 Bi-District: Longview vs Lufkin
luv-sports replied to LoboFan07's topic in High School Sports
This game will be a tough one to win for the Lobos. K. Coutee ran by our secondary at will in game1. Both teams are better now; however the Lobos lost their best safety to injury Friday. You know Lufkin will be exploiting matchups with our secondary even more now. The Lobos will have to try and get the lead and KEEP it. Big plays and ball control will be the Lobos ally. I look for a score in the mid to high 30's by both teams. -
Legendary East Texas Tennis Coach Retires
luv-sports replied to bordertown's topic in High School Sports
I had the pleasure of growing up with John in Longview. I was a class ahead of him but we played Little League/Pony/Dixie/ and H. S. ball together. John was a quiet, reserved but highly competitive young man. I havent seen John in 10 yrs. or so; but enjoyed our conversations when in Texarkana broadcasting Longview High basketball. Congrats on your successful career John. Take care "LEFTY". Eddie Richardson -
Kenny A. does have an injury. He may or may not play this week.Hopefully we will see him in the lineup.

Chris Davis and the Baltimore Orioles reached agreement today on a 1yr. $3.3 million contract. While Davis played 1st-3rd-DH-RF and pitched 1 game with a win; he will play primarily 1B.

This will be another exciting season for sure. I like many never appreciate what this program has meant to the community/especially since the P.C./J.K. era began. Lets not talk about the many wins and exciting games thru this era--at least for now. What is so often forgotten about the accomplishments on the field; is what the carry over has been for the "whole" school and the city. Go drive around/thru the school site. Does anyone think that any of the new facilities would have come about without the success of the football program.NO! People also dont realize the money going into the school from the Athletic programs. Yes; we love our Friday nights and seeing those Lobos take the field for every game. I know; I have one of the best seats in the "house" and I get chills come game day! Go Lobos/lets get the show started @ SMU Sept.1st.

Gideon isnt the biggest or fastest player around, BUT his background and ability put him at the top. Not the pure power hitter his dad was, but he does all the right things. He will play at a well known established baseball program and be a complete player. Whether he can stay healthy and get drafted high remains to be seen; but I would bet on it. He is a teamer and I guess thats why he plays football-just hope he doesnt get injured as in the past(not severe).

Call 903 663 2744 and ask for the AD. He may know locations that would suit your qualifications in the classroom.

Not that I am aware of--BUT a Lee rival coach who is one of Coach Huff.'s best friends; would love to have him on his staff. He could even stay in Tyler and only have about a 45 minute drive each day--HINT-HINT!!

This is a sports venue. You made the reference to being gay. I feel certain no one cares at all--but you. When you have sporting news/comments/etc.-fine; personal comments keep to yourself.

Lets see --YOU made the reference to being gay--no one else did; and for that matter cares!!These posts are for sports topics--nothing else!!

[quote name='trinitylongview' timestamp='1310403868' post='1546189'] Wray Wade either has interviewed or will be interviewing for the position. He was a semifinalist the last time the position was open. I've known Wray since he was a youngster. He has been successful in all his endeavors. The problem is he is not certified.
