  1. It is actually Bodacious and everyone has their preferences. Who knows, you might actually like our food if you try it. It will be served out of the home concession stand tonight. We are supporting our home town team by staying open for a 5th quarter for the kids to have somewhere to hang out, listen to music, and play a few games.
  2. 5M BBQ (located behind Eagles Nest Donut Shop) will be open after the game until midnight serving a full menu and shaved ice snow cones. Stop by and try the Q. We promise you will not be disappointed. Good luck to both teams and Go Eagles
  3. On Saturday October 29th from 4 to 8pm we will be holding a cancer walk to benefit Pink Heels. We would like to invite everyone to come participate. To walk and receive a tshirt it is $10. You may register at the field. We will also be holding a silent auction and a kids area. For more information, please visit newdianaeagles.com or email [email protected]
  4. I am posting a current update on the status of New Diana. I am the Athletic Booster President. As most know New Diana has hired Robbie Coplin as AD/HC. Coach Coplin has been doing staff reviews. We have has two coaches resign after completing the year. As of Monday the powerlifting and baseball coaches have been offered non coaching positions in the middle school as teachers for next year. To date we now have 4 coaching positions unfilled. No announcements of replacements are pending. As this positions are filled we will update.
  5. Job board lit up??? Since the beginning it was stated that the new AD would bring in 2 coaches. An OC and DC. Both are posted. There is also a 3rd position posted. The rest have been told they will be staying unless they wish to leave. Good luck with the speculation.
  6. I have been to meetings and listened to the numbers about the field and track. The field needs reconditioned or it is unsafe to play on. There have been muktioke injuries due to holes and divits from overuse. I imagine you are a businessman from your post. Why spend $300-$400 to recondition the field and track just to have to do in again in a few years? Is not not smarter to turf the field for $1 million and not have to do major spending for the uokeep for 10 years. Is not not a more logical financial decision? The field is used by the football teams, band, baseball, softball, and other grades for free time or pe. It is a cost effective improvement. I will say I agree on the incorporation. The defense has not given up 40-50 a game for 4 years. I was at all the games in that span with my kids parricipating. I will say I do not know the numbers exactly but there were 2 playoff years and 1 we missed on points spread. I will agree 3-7 isn't a playoff team but the 3 wins were against the right teams. This year was a different story. Again I was at all but the waskom game. I saw an offense give up the ball many times that the opposing team scored. That's not on the defense. 30+ turnovers with half going for scores is a lot of points. Again the defense is on the sidelines. Special teams scores quit a few. So you can not sum up 4 years of football by 1 year of mosques. It happens to a very yound team. The future is bright and I hope that are more people that start see this and supporting the changes than opposing the opportunities we now have.
  7. Thank you! We need some movement forward to help the program and community.
  8. If you are stating facts then where are the sources of those facts? I stated where mine came from and can back them up.
  9. I stated each of those lines as clarifaction of the process not to state anyone else said it. I have also clarified my opinion from stated facts of the district. My information van me confirmed by not only the HS principal but the superintendent as well. Where are your facts coming from on those positions? Can you verify that information as facts or rumors of those positions? Yes the coming months will tell a lot of facts and dispell many rumors.
  10. Entire girls side needs replaced? 1 going into admin? Certification not completed? Those are some big statements. Entire girls side includes 6 coaches. The admin position has not been created so that is not a definate. 3 of the coaches are new hires. All coaches are certified teachers and some are working on additional certifications. You are correct about the boys side in that it is tricky. Yes 2 coaches are confirmed gone. Who? Noboby know for sure until admin and Coplin sit down and evaluate that. Coplin isn't coming in and firing everyone. He does not have that ability by himself. He does have the ability to make suggestions. Any coach he want to replace is also a teacher. Admin has to evaluate those positions also. You have some good points and good information bit you are leaving out the part of the adminstration being involved. The teaching side of coaching have to fit the needs of the school not just the coaching side. Rumors hurt communities and this community has had their fair share of them in the past. This is a process that will play put in the next few months. Its not a definite on week one of Coach Coplin being hired.
  11. As a member of the hiring committee the discussion was to bring in the minimum of 2 coaches. This did not specifically mean coordinaters but it will most likely be. He will then evaluate the remaining staff for recommendation on keeping or replacing. Any staff being replaced must also fit into a teaching position available. This could limit who he wants to bring in. With this being said, the are many rumors that coaching spots will be open. This is not true at this time. All spots are to be evaluated by Coach Coplin and admin before any coach is replaced. This should be complete by the end of march. My opinion and MY OPINION only. There will be 2 to 3 coaches replaced. I honestly think it will be only 2. Which coaches will be determined later. So to state a fact per the hiring requirement is 2 coaches are coming in and 2 will be replaced. All positions can be replaced but unlikely. No specific positions are open. Check the school web site for job postings. NONE!
  12. I have no doubt the process was done correctly by the way it was set up. The super was talked to by many including me. He is a calculated man. He took in all the information and made a decision for the school. His track record speeks for itself. He would have walked out before he was "strong armed" into a decision. He doesn't work that way. Bottom line is we have Robbie Coplin and we will build on it. There are going to be so many more rumors because not everyone can be happy. Did we get the best possible man for the job??? Only time can tell that. Until then..... Keep enjoying giving your opinions of he said she said and I know this because..... Isn't that what makes everything facts???
  13. Robbie Coplin is the finalist to be presented to the school board on Monday for a vote as the new AD/HC.

  20. Yes absolutely our assets cover our debts. It is "public record" but there again, you must come to a meeting to see them. We would gladly open the up. Asking people to come to meeting is not asking to "pass the hat" or for money. We ask for involvement and person investment in the program. We don't sit back and complain about what we have. We take an active role to help fix it. We supplement budgets to help the needs of the kids. We provide scholarships to 4 kids each year. So yes we do fundraisers so fund this but a fundraiser is not begging for money. It is an active of participation for funds. I apologize that you are bitter towards what is going on. I apologize that you do not want to take an active roll to help fix any shortfalls. You may say anything you would like with or without facts because that is your right. What I will say is you are not correct in your statements and I challenge you to come to 1 meeting. Come see what is right and wrong. Come get your own facts instead of hearsay. Monday February 8th at 6pm. If you don't want to stay for the entire hour meeting, the finances are covered right after our opening prayer.
  21. You have a lot of 2nd hand false information. If you want to know the truth, come to the booster meeting on Feb. 8th at 6pm I'm the gym foyer. You may see our financial standings instead of spreading false information. Facts you may see speak for themselves.
  22. The gentleman from Marble Falls as the OC that was previously at Lake Travis is a finalist based on his expirence and interview. The committee process was a complete discussion process and working relationship. There were no arguements. There were no influences or overbering opinions. It was a complete success. So to say the "QB's Dad won" is a completely false statement. The expirence and ideas of the candidate along with the second candidate is what earned them a spot as a finalist. Mr Taylor it was a fair and complete process. Anyone that knows a person directly on the committee can confirm this. In the end, the community has won with either finalist.
  23. Yes there will be people around in 5 years from the committee. Half the committee have been here the last 5 years. Is the the best scenero to select a coach? Maybe maybe not. Time will tell. A few in the community stired the pot enough for change. Now they will reap the reward or possible failure of this process they wanted. I personally will do my best to do what's in the best interest of the athletic program and my kids. I have been involved closely with the program for the last 4 years and plan to continue the volunteer work I do. We need more to support the program to develop it into something special.
