  1. This is a GREAT story! 1) Did the Palestine staff member who gave out the account information, decide to say oh by the way.... I was contacted by the former Palestine employee, who now is a Carthage Coach and guess what I gave him! I thought it would terrific to give out this information! No ones cares do they???? 2) Why do random employees of the school district have individual athlete's hudl information? Do Palestine employees get on hudl and watch film? Then put suggestions in the Suggestion Box, outside the head coach's office. On a certain day of the week, they empty out the suggestion box, and see if they got any good "armchair" QBs out there! 3) Your claim is watching over four hours of film all day Tuesday, and not possible for this athlete in question because he was in class. Every single Coach Carthage has is in a classroom or has duty the majority of the day except for Coach Surratt. And I can assure you he has plenty on his plate as AD along with being the Head Football Coach to occupy four hours of his day besides watching Palestine's Monday practice. 4) Your also claim hudl tracked the IP address back to Carthage. Carthage ISD? Panola County Sheriff's Department? Any local address, even Doomer out in Deadwood, guess what shows up 75633 - all the way to the state line 75633 Carthage!!! So saying an IP shows up as Carthage cast a very large net! 5) "And any other film on the hudl account." Oh SCANDALOUS!!!! Doomer really likes Carthage even though he doesn't want to admit it!!! Has he worked in Palestine before??? I heard Surratt has hired him as Security to keep folks off the track and away from the fence at all the Playoff Games!
  2. It will be like when yall played CH for the State Championship!!! Just the Dogs against the Dawgs, the old kids of the DoD against the new kids of the DoD. Making even more people slap their forehead, do an eyeroll, and ask please, oh please, can we just do away with the name "District of Doom", it is as annoying as the nicknames "honey badger" or "Johnny Football"!!!! And all those from DoD will just grin, and say... The best come from East Texas and out of DoD, or at least at one time, they did.
  3. I have a question. I am from Carthage and very confused about the whole "hudl" situation. Maybe I don't understand how hudl works, because how do you misuse it? School's buy an account with this company, which in turn, host all these things you can do with game film. Also coaches can exchange film with one another, make high light film for individual players for recruiting purposes, and I guess other things as well. There are even apps for smart devices, for hudl, the iPad, iPhone, Android, etc... all have apps for hudl. Not all schools in the state Texas have purchased this software, UIL does not require a school to have it. So my question is how does a school abuse or I assume by saying UIL is investigating "cheat" by using hudl? Each school that uses this software, uploads what they want on the site and want to share or am I totally missing something here. Or is someone accusing a Carthage coach of hacking into their account and stealing their calls, their signals? Because what more could you get, more film? And I am only asking.... Maybe I am ignorant of how hudl works. I am just going off how I have seen hudl work from the recruiting process. I have no idea how it works when it comes to the break down of a game and trading with opponents.
  4. ??????? Okay, I will bite, what have you heard??? Who has the coach that used to work at the other school, & has now switched colors? And allegedly what has this person done, to cause UIL to begin looking into the situation???
  5. Why start crazy threads like this???? It makes it seem as if Carthage is very arrogant & thinks they have this whole thing in the bag! Which is not even close! Coach Surratt, his entire staff, and all the players, are not looking past Palestine! Plus why talk trash about Kilgore? It only makes East Texas look better for the two of us to meet in Dallas. And it looked pretty even matched at the scrimmage and both teams have only gotten better.
  6. Donnie Graves Jr!!! It would have to be... His dad Donnie Graves played for Carthage, and well when you talk about some of the Best to come through Carthage, it is hard not to mention his name!
  7. Oh geez! Do forgive my ignorance and skimming over instead of reading.... Overlooked the "vs" read a few entries and saw "sweep" & "DOD" sorry for mentioning Carthage on your thread. I do wish all 3 teams the best of luck in your first round games. May you have injury free victories! I do hope you bring home the Small 3A Championship & that Kilgore represents you in the Big 3A Championship! Again sorry about skimming instead of reading then hijacking your thread. Go Big & represent the DoD LARGE & PROUD!
  8. Ugh!!!!! Posted two more times!!!!
  9. Hahaha! Is that because you guys believe Kilgore will win Big and either the Might Lions or Buckeyes will win Small??? If so.... I don't mind seeing either Henderson or Gilmer win Small nor meeting the other Dogs in Dallas! It would be a great game! Also has anyone watched Kilgore's 9th grade? I heard they have a Graves kid, (related to Carthage's Gregg Graves) & his dad played for Carthage way back when, was just curious if anyone had watched him play???
  10. It is about revenue! Bottom line! You win, you make money! Get rid of a winning coach, BAD BAD DEAL!!! Even if he does call you an idiot. You are going to be an even bigger idiot when you let him go!!!
  11. Not so fast my friend ~ You guys need not FORGET about those BULLDAWGS that were moved out of the District of Doom! If the Good Lord is Willing... Surratt and his Dawgs will be bringing home a State Championship back to Carthage!!!!
  12. It pains me, especially now that your team is out you aren't going to follow the mighty DAWGS!!! Not that I don't believe those other teams are good but because you are from Deadwood. The Bulldogs have several guys from ACROSS THE RIVER on the team, Sammy Chor, Will Harris, Gregg Graves, Zach Stevens, & Rope Pride. Should be an easy decision for you! You know those who grow up or live out in "God's Country" stick together!!!!
  13. I have another question regarding playoffs... Kilgore will be going big 3A... It would be safe to say they have only gotten better with each game, so once the playoffs start if both Kilgore & Carthage continue to win at what point to they meet and how do they match up? I know they scrimmaged each other, but that was way back when and I know Carthage was no where near what they are now, so I would imagine neither was Kilgore. And does anyone know how the kid is that broke his leg during the scrimmage? I hope he is doing well.
  14. I was not at the game, I was watching the Bulldawgs beat the Roughriders, (a great game if you missed it!), I do not understand the need to be rude, and say the 4th down play was no respect. If I were a Palestine fan, I would like to think it was more along the lines of great coaching. Seeing something in the defense you thought you could expose on that play. It being a district game and leaving it all on the field. Trying to change the momentum in your favor. If you watch college football one coach which appears to go for it more than most and even sometimes when it seems he should not, is Les Miles, and I seriously doubt it is because he has little or no respect for the other team, but just the opposite; and he is merely going for the win at all cost! Les Miles is known as the Mad Hatter and the Riverboat Gambler. The perception is that, on any given fourth down, he will reach into his bag of tricks and attempt a high-risk play. But do those monikers really fit? Take 2010. LSU did lead the nation in fourth-down percentage, converting 11 of 12 times. But all but two SEC teams went for it on fourth down more often. Half the league attempted 19 or more fourth-down conversions. So it’s not as if Miles views every fourth down as a chance to pull out the stops. As he put it, “If you think about it, I’m not as wild as everybody likes to think. “I’m not necessarily a fourth-down guy,” Miles continued in an interview with AFM. “I don’t come into game plans with an eye on that down. That’s honestly a down when we plan to punt, kick a field goal, or have a very, very short situation and hopefully find an advantage that gets us a first down. I’m not a proponent of unmeasured calls on fourth down.” That said, Miles certainly has a flair for fourth-down drama. Who can forget his Tigers going 5-for-5 on fourth downs against Florida in 2007? Or the no-look flip pass/fake field goal that worked last year against Florida (albeit off a bounce) and to perfection against South Carolina in 2007? Or Josh Jasper’s 29-yard run on a fake punt against Alabama last year, followed by a fourth-and-one reverse that went for 23 yards in the fourth quarter? Or the 39-yard touchdown pass JaMarcus Russell fired to Early Doucet on fourth-and-ten to beat Arizona State in 2005?
  15. What??? Are you SERIOUS??? You aren’t really from Deadwood, ARE YOU? YOU ARE AN IMPOSTER!!!!
  16. Really??? When was the last time you were in a public school classroom??? Trust me, teachers get just as frustrated with students who are not performing to their complete potential. Teachers don't get to pick the players on their team, they coach what they are given by administrators at the beginning of the year or as they move into the District. Don't get me wrong I think there are some really GREAT coaches out there. Carthage is even blessed not only with really great Coaches on the field but also in the Classroom. My previous point... A good leader, motivator does not need to resort to profanity in order to get his/her point across. They lead by example!!!
  17. If it is okay for Coaches to get fed up with under achieving and poor performance to use profanity in order to motivate their STUDENT athletes; one would assume certainly without a shadow of a doubt, a Teacher, in the classroom, fed up with under achieving and poor performance could also use profanity to motivate students!!!!
  18. No it was not Sammy! A Sophomore, who will have a chance to learn from mistakes.
  19. Stayed until final whistle.... Great game! Good luck to WH from here on out... May you continue to play long into the playoffs, up until the middle of December! Finish it off in Texas Stadium! Play in front of a Jumbotron bigger than ours! ;)
  20. Thanks! I was just curious if it was 4th and close if they would have to go for it or had the option to try for 3. As does Carthage have a good kicker too. So this game should be a battle to the final whistle. Best of luck to both teams. May it be an injury free game, and the WH team & fans have safe travels to & from Carthage! Hope you enjoy our Stadium & our Jumbotron. Still going with the Dawgs +3!!!!
  21. Still curious about Whitehouse's kicker!
  22. Here are more stats for those of you who are loving the stats.... And a few answers to some of the questions asked.... Playmakers Whitehouse: QB Patrick Mahomes, Jr., 6-3, 185 (62 of 112, 1,101 yards, 12 TDs, 2 INTs; 22 carries, 111 yards, 3 TDs) WR Dylan Cantrell, Sr., 6-3, 205 (22 catches, 458 yards, 7 TDs) WR Jake Parker, Jr. (18 catches, 302 yards, 2 TDs) FS Colby Campbell, Jr., 6-0, 185 (27 tackles, 1 forced fumble) WR Jaylon Dews, Jr. (15 catches, 226 yards, 3 TDs) DL Brannon Beaton, Sr., 6-2, 225 (17 tackles, 3 sacks) WR Coleman Patterson, Jr. (12 catches, 209 yards, 3 TDs) DE/LB Reggie Long, Jr., 6-0, 195 (21 tackles) OL Keagan Smith, Jr., 6-1, 295 OL Hunter Conn, Sr., 6-5, 290 Carthage: DT Isaiah Golden, Sr., 6-2, 315 (26 tackles, 17 for loss, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 7 QB pressures) MLB Trent Jackson, Sr., 6-0, 215 (47 tackles, 6 for loss, 1 INT, 1 forced fumble, 2 recoveries, 4 PBUs) LT/DE Mario McCain, Jr., 6-0, 240 (24 tackles, 14 for loss, 3 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 2 recoveries, 5 QB pressures) DE/LB Gregg Graves, Sr., 6-1, 200 (22 tackles, 11 for loss, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 7 QB pressures) QB Blake Bogenschutz, Jr., 6-0, 182 (52 of 99, 738 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INTs; 1 rush TD) WR/DB Tee Goree, Jr., 6-2, 170 (24 catches, 417 yards, 6 TDs; 1 INT, 1 def. TD) RB Tevin Pipkin, Jr., 5-10, 170 (58 carries, 449 yards, 4 TDs; doubtful for Friday’s game, per coach Scott Surratt) ATH Bryian Bolton, Soph., 5-10, 175 (7 carries, 66 yards, 1 TD; 23 tackles, 3 INTs, 2 PBUs) CB Dominic Collins, Sr., 5-9, 170 (23 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 recovery, 1 def. TD) OLB D.K. Calloway, Sr., 5-7, 170 (32 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 def. TD) Just the facts: Whitehouse QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 580 yards, 6 TDs, and 1 INT in his last two games Carthage’s four starting defensive linemen have combined for 42 tackles for loss, nine sacks, six forced fumbles, and 12 QB hits (those stats don’t include Gregg Graves’ 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and six QB hits) Whitehouse’s play selection is 54.5 percent pass and 45.5 percent run, but the Wildcats’ total yardage (2,021) is 65.6 percent pass and 34.4 percent run Carthage’s play selection is 50.7 percent pass and 49.3 percent run, but the Bulldogs’ total yardage (1,344) is 57.7 percent pass and 42.3 percent run Whitehouse averages 42.3 points per game and allows 19.8 A year ago, Whitehouse surrendered 51.0 points per game in its first four contests Carthage averages 35.5 points per game and allows 20.5 Key matchup: Whitehouse’s passing game vs. Carthage’s secondary. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has posted huge numbers in Whitehouse’s first four games of the season, and his slew of receivers — including Texas Tech-bound Dylan Cantrell, Jake Parker, Jaylon Dews, Coleman Patterson, etc. — have been the main beneficiaries. Whitehouse has scored a lot of points against everyone it has played, and the Wildcats don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Carthage’s secondary is its most inexperienced unit from a season ago with only one returning starter — senior cornerback Dominic Collins. But the Bulldogs possess the equalizer up front in a dominant defensive line featuring Texas A&M-bound tackle Isaiah Golden that has overwhelmed its last three opponents to fuel the Dawgs’ three-game winning streak. Carthage has held its last three foes to 16.0 points per game. The Bulldogs accumulated 29 tackles for loss and nine sacks in Nacogdoches’ 78 snaps in a 44-21 Carthage win a week ago. But the defensive line cannot do everything, so the Bulldog secondary must step up its game if Carthage is to attempt to slow down Whitehouse’s high-flying passing attack. Chalk talk: Carthage coach Scott Surratt on Whitehouse: “Their team is the best team we’ve played so far, so we’re going to have to up our game to play with them, and we’re going to see where we are as a football team.” Surratt on the key for Carthage in Friday’s game: “We have to limit big plays in the passing game. We know they’re going to get some, but we’ve got to limit them. We’ve got to hit the quarterback (Patrick Mahomes). If he completes (passes), he’s got to be getting up off the ground. We’ve got to put pressure on him. If he sits back there and gets time, he can throw with anybody.” Don’t be surprised if: This turns into the best game in East Texas this week. All the classic contrasts in style are here. There’s Whitehouse’s shotgun-exclusive, pass-happy spread offense, and Carthage’s multiple-set, pro-style offense. Then there are two defenses succeeding in different ways. Whitehouse has held three of its four opponents to 18 points or fewer by playing solid defense with a bend-don’t-break approach, while Carthage has accumulated staggering tackles for loss totals, forced 17 turnovers, and scored 20 points with its big-play defensive prowess. Both teams have talented junior quarterbacks in Whitehouse’s Patrick Mahomes and Carthage’s Blake Bogenschutz, as well as hefty offensive lines and big-play receivers — Whitehouse’s Dylan Cantrell and Carthage’s Tee Goree. The running game could be a deciding factor, especially considering that Carthage junior tailback Tevin Pipkin is doubtful after spraining his ankle in last week’s win at Nacogdoches. Bryian Bolton, D.K. Calloway, and Derontay Brown could be backfield options if Pipkin can’t play. While Whitehouse doesn’t run the ball a ton, the Wildcats’ ability to occasionally keep Carthage’s defensive line honest with a draw or a screen here or there could play a huge role in keeping Mahomes upright and not rattled. Just about every way you look at this game, it appears to be a great one. (From etsn) Pipkin, who suffered an ankle injury on the first play of the third quarter against Nacogdoches, is expected to play this week. Surratt said if his play is limited, Bolton, Jackson and Callaway could all see touches against the Wildcats. Kickoff against Whitehouse at Bulldog Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday. (From Panola Watchman)
  23. No my friend.... Was not me! Only cracked a friendly joke about A&M joining the SEC, and someone might being a CoonTobinFrost by what all they ate! I will only crack a joke or two about the post that are posted. Never will you see any of my post discredit a Carthage kid or Coach nor will I ever discredit a kid or Coach from another school or town. I do not believe in tearing kids down but rather building them up for life after high school to be productive citizens and parents. It goes back to the old saying of lead by example.
