  1. Texas Education Agency Enrollment Reports https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/adhocrpt/adste.html shows the following enrollment by grades for Gunter for 2021-22 school year Grade 9 103, Grade 10 76, Grade 11 99, Grade 12 78
  2. Both of his sons have graduated from high school.
  3. The number of sportswriters that have left newspapers the last few years is quite alarming. Newspapers are dying. Only makes sense that DCTF does the rankings and uses the friends that have left newpapers to assist.
  4. Dallas Gateway is playing up in 3A - Windthorst is now DII
  5. The "Shiner" alignment is closer to what UIL has done in the past. In my alignment it probably made more sense to switch D11 and D12 with D13 and D14, but I thought travel wise it would be easier to send those schools to east Texas for the playoffs and the Waco schools south. I like the Shiner proposed alignment better than mine!!
  6. A person from Shiner came up with this alignment: District 1: Sunray, West Texas, Sanford-Fritch, Boys Ranch, Panhandle, Amarillo Highland ParkDistrict 2: Olton, Hale Center, Floydada, New Deal, Sundown, PostDistrict 3: Seymour, Olney, Stamford, Hawley, Winters, ForsanDistrict 4: De Leon, Hico, Goldthwaite, San Saba, MasonDistrict 5: Lindsay, Collinsville, Valley View, Alvord, ChicoDistrict 6: Honey Grove, Tom Bean, Trenton, Wolfe City, Celeste, Quinlan-BolesDistrict 7: Italy, Itasca, Kerens, Malakoff, Cayuga, Axtell, District 8: Valley Mills, Crawford, Bosqueville, Moody, Bruceville-Eddy, Marlin, RieselDistrict 9: Rivercrest, Como-Pickton, Linden-Kildare, Harleton, Union Grove, Big Sandy, HawkinsDistrict 10: Beckville, Garrison, Cushing, Alto, Price CarlisleDistrict 11: Timpson, Teneha, Joaquin, Shelbyville, San Augustine, West SabineDistrict 12: Jewett-Leon, Centerville, Normangee, Groveton, Hull-Daisetta, Deweyville District 13: Rosebud-Lott, Holland, Hearne, Milano, Thorndale, ThrallDistrict 14: Ozona, Junction, Harper, Center Point, Sabinal, Bracketville District 15: Weimar, Wallis-Brazos, Shiner, Yorktown, Kenedy, RefugioDistrict 16: Three Rivers, Freer, Ben Bolt, Riviera-Kaufer, Santa Maria

  8. In Div I Reg II there were 2 districts that had 7 teams this past alignment, so it's been done before!!!
  9. Deweyville and Hull Daisettia are in that corner all by themselves someone has to join them!!
  10. Never fails someone gets shafted in the department!!!
  11. Centerville was in D12 last year. I know there are ton more schools closer to SA than these. I put SA in 12 since looking at the Map HD, Deweyville, Groveton, and WS will be grouped together. SA just made sense to me - but then again we are talking about UIL!!!
  12. D1 - Amarillo Highland Park, Boys Ranch, Panhandle, Sanford-Fritch, Sunray, West TexasD2 - Floydada, Hale Center, New Deal, Olton, SundownD3 - Forsan, Hawley, Post, Stamford, WintersD4 - Ozona, Junction, Harper, Center Point, Sabinal, Bracketville D5 - Alvord, Chico, Lindsay, Olney, Seymour, Valley View D6 - Celeste, Collinsville, Honey Grove, Quinlan Boles, Tom Bean, Trenton, Wolfe CityD7 - Cayuga, Cross Roads, Italy, Itasca, KerensD8 - De Leon, Hico, Mason, Goldthwaite, San Saba D9 - Big Sandy, Bogata Rivercrest, Como-Pickton, Harleton, Hawkins, Linden-Kildare, Union GroveD10 - Beckville, Garrison, Joaquin, Tenaha, Timpson, ShelbyvilleD11 - Alto, Centerville, Cushing, Jewett Leon, Normangee, Price CarlisleD12 - Deweyville, Groveton, Hull-Daisettia, San Augustine, West Sabine (Someone has to go south to make this a 5 team district) D13 - Axtell, Bosqueville, Bruceville-Eddy, Crawford, Holland, Moody, Valley Mills, D14 - Hearne, Marlin, Milano, Riesel, Rosebudd-Lott, Thorndale, Thrall D15 - Kenedy, Refugio, Shiner, Wallis Brazos, Weimar, Yorktown, D16 - Ben Bolt,Freer, Riviera Kaufer, Santa Maria, Three Rivers
  13. 1. Conference 6A shall consist of a minimum of 220 schools and a maximum of 250 schools participating in football, not including schools choosing to opt up to 6A. 2. Conferences 2A through 5A shall consist of a minimum of 200 schools, to the best extent possible, such that the enrollment ratio in grades 9-12 between the largest school and the smallest school in that conference is approximately 2.0.
  14. 2A Top Number Previous Alignments 2016-18 220 2014-16 219 2012-14 199 2010-12 199 2008-10 199 2012 bump coincided with 6-man going from 99.9 to 104.9 - UIL tries to keep enrollment ratio near to 2.0
  15. 2016-2018 Cutoff did not change from 2014-2016 - bit of lie went from 220 to 221. 220 was also the cutoff for 2014-2016. Last time there was a jump was 200 in 2012-2014 to the 220 current number. Not sure how much this plays into 2A top number but UIL procedures state there should be at least 200 schools in 2A and 5A.
  16. Not taking anything away from Throckmorton, but that was definitely a rebuilding year. That was Munday's State Championship year (2012). They had us down 54-0 at halftime as they cruised to a 68-7 win - could have easily put up a 100 on us if they had wanted to!!! Munday ran around 20 plays of offense in that first half and had over 300 yards of offense.
  17. Can anyone stop Triple A Academy from winning it all? Roster Tyler Singleton , So. , G , 6-1 , Son of athletic director, brother is Hillcrest’s Tim Singleton King McClure , So. , G , 6-3 , SportsDayHS newcomer of the year last year Jeremiah Jefferson , Jr. , G , 6-2 , Younger brother of UConn freshman Moriah Jefferson Gary Breaux , Jr. , G , 6-3 , Transferred to Triple A last season Dalyn Mumphrey , So. , P/F , 6-6 , Joined Triple A in eighth grade, avg. 4.2 rebounds last year Harrison Henderson , Fr. , P/F , 6-7 , At Triple A since 6th grade, well-regarded prospect Cameron Cooks , Jr. , G , 5-11 , Cedar Hill transfer in 2011 Shavarick James , Jr. , G , 6-3 , Along with Jefferson, transferred from Hampton Prep in 2011 Frank Hollis , Jr. , G , 6-3 , Leading scorer at Bishop Lynch last year Jamar Sandifer , Fr. , G , 6-2 , Has not played in Triple A’s first three games AD for the charter school thinks there are 5-6 DI kids according to article in DMN Triple A Academy a budding basketball power, but some (including UIL) wonder if Class 1A status is fair
  18. Coach Gardner's ommission from their list of finalists make no sense. The coaches from the other three finalists made the list. I don't agree with alot of the teams that THSF puts out. Like Alto we were picked to run roughshod over our opponents too. Maybe Alto just made it look too easy?!!! As Jerry jones once said Mickey Mouse could coach this team to a Superbowl!!!
  19. I think the defense was one of the best ever in the state of Texas. Congrats on your State Title. Just looking at the entire team there is a definite slant toward Region II teams. I wonder where the concentration of the voters were located. GBR 1Atexasfootball.com
