  1. I've been reading these forums since at least 2005, I have followed closely every year during football season. I'm a Whitehouse grad, played football there and saw some really lean years (we were horrible) We did not make the playoffs from 1978 until the late 1990's, I believe. I have attended between five and seven home and away games a year without fail, since the late 90's. Whitehouse fans can be obnoxious, but so are every other fan I have seen. I sat on the visitor side (Whitehouse hosting Marshall) a few years ago with my two grandsons, who were five and three at the time. It was embarrassing The trash being talked among fans in the stands, including racial slurs. It is not just Whitehouse , it is every high school in America right now. Whitehouse has problems I'm sure, just as every other school has. America has a problem right now, but that's a whole different discussion. Are there racists and idiots ? Of course, they are everywhere, they are not exclusive to the 75791 zip code. However, the constant rhetoric and bashing on this site is, quite honestly, sad. I could have posted this a couple years ago, but I didn't, I am a fan of the game, not of conflict. I've seen it while visiting Nacogdoches stadium as well. All of you who say your school is better than that are lying to yourself, all public schools have issues right now. As a football fan, I'm just excited to see Whitehouse start to have some success again. This has been our most successful year since the Mahomes era, and I am enjoying every minute of it. I have not seen anything happen on the field that is any different than any other high school game I have been to (and I do attend other high schools games). The Whitehouse bashing, whether you feel it is deserved or not, just makes you look pathetic, each of you. I'm gonna bite my tongue and try not to respond to any of the negative criticism you guys post from here on out, but I promise you it's not just Whitehouse, it is every school we have played, no exception. And Mavchamp, you do a great job every week during football season, you seem like a nice guy. Why let them live in your head rent free? I couldn't care less if you post details about Whitehouse games, really couldn't. However, when you start bashing the student-athletes on the field, it is a bad look for you.
  2. 24 hours to kickoff ... looking forward to a great game !!!
  3. What's on your mind?

  4. I lived in Canada for a while several years ago... Most everyone I met could not believe I didn't wear a cowboy hat (only a cowboys hat) , didn't own any horses, and didn't make millions in the oil industry... We, as Texans, are very much stereo-typed all around the world, or at least in the few countries I have travelled to...
  5. They are saying on Fox sports that it is indeed a national record...wow they are gonna be sore tomorrow...probably sore right now even...lol
  6. Well said TyperWoods... As frustrated as I was by the outcome and all that it took to get there, this is what I had to remind myself of before I stroked out !
  7. My 16 yr old nephew and I attended the sports banquet, I was completely impressed with all 3 guest speakers. I had never heard of Lowder (?), but he had a great testimony also. My nephew and I were talking afterwards, and how powerful was the story Lowder shared about his daughter's question to him ? Good stuff....really good !!! *Advice given to Colt by coach Davis* - " Before you can be great , you gotta be really good consistently." I believe Colt listened...
  8. Even as a Texas fan, I cannot see how anyone other than Suh would get the nod as player of the game...What a beast, he was a one-man wrecking crew !
  9. What a game, what a finish ! I personally think Musberger and his Crony sidekick should never be allowed to broadcast a Texas game again... The anti-Texas bias they showed throughout the game was driving me ####, unproffessional ! Hook 'em Horns
  10. DogonSirius... Whitehouse will show up... This group of young men have shown up for EVERY game this year, and Friday night will be no exception. They may not match up on paper with Longview, and they may not have a chance in most people's oppinion, but they will show up ! This has been one of the most emotionally draining seasons in recent memory for Whitehouse, but these guys have poured everything they have out on the field this year, and will continue to do so on Friday. And we, the Whitehouse fans, will be cheering louder than ever, regardless of your oppinion... :woohoo:
  11. 600? The band and band parents probably would fill at least 400 or more...guess I better take off early Friday then...that breaks my heart...lol
  12. Yes, bigorange, the band will be there. My daughter is in the band, and following her to all these away games has been a challenge. BTW, how big is the visitor side in Celina?
  13. I had walked out of the room and must've missed Mack's comments ,only caught the tail end of Mack talking with those two, but I noticed Musberger's body language was awkward...guess that explains it ! Good for Mack !!!
  14. I knew something was up in the secondary last night, but had no idea the extent of it . What a terrible situation, and I am not referring to football here, for these young men to put themselves in ! I hope there is some good to come out of this in the long run, maybe some kids headed down the wrong path who will now get some re-direction in life. If these allegations are true, anyone know how much this would affect scholarship offers in this day and age? I would think some higher profile programs would shy away, but who knows?
  15. BTW... 'Cana looks to be a team on the way back to the top, coach Castles may be just what the doctor ordered for them, totally different looking team this year, congrats on a well-deserved win tonite...
  16. Whitehouse is really hard to figure out right now from a fan's standpoint...There have been flashes of greatness on both offense and defense through the first three games, but there have also been some really bone-headed ,uninspired, and head-scratching moments on both sides of the ball. This team is way to inconsistent right now. I think Condor COULD be a great QB but some of his decision making puzzles me, and it doesn't seem to be improving. I hope the coaching staff can prevent this tough start from completely demoralizing the team. I believe the potential is there to be a really strong team, but it needs to start coming together very soon, or this season may slip away from us. Regardless, I will be cheering on my Cats, I just hope to see week-to-week improvements soon...
  17. Great job by Sulphur Springs tonight...the better team won this one.. I think we (Whouse) will be fine by the time district rolls around, taking our lumps early, and hopefully growing from them...
  18. LoboFan07, first of all congrats on the huge win for y'all tonite...yes 35-7 early in the 3rd, and was nearly worse with Naaman driving. Then the Whitehouse defense dug in and came to life, it was almost surreal to witness, but the offense fed off of the defensive stand and things turned around...But alas, still a loss in the end, but, probably the "greatest " loss I have witnessed (and believe me, I have seen my share as a lifelong Whouse fan!) I screamed myself voiceless over this one, but I think there are many positives the coaching staff can glean from this one (and plenty of negatives...after all 35-7 was no fluke, we were stinking it up at one point!) But overall, this one leaves me with a lot of excitement over the possibilities for the district schedule and beyond...
  19. Wow what a game!!! I was completely frustrated when we went down 35-7 early in the 3rd quarter, thought it was gonna get ugly...but the Whitehouse defense gut-checked themselves right back into this one and Conder and the entire offense flipped the switch and played lights out !! Hats off to Naaman , they are gonna be a good 5A team again this year. I think a lot of folks will question coach Mac's decision to go for the win instead of the tie with 20 seconds left, but I personally think it was the right one this early in the season...Was a lot of fun to watch from the stands, can't wait to play a good Sulphur Springs team next week ! If tonite was any indication, gonna be another great game !!!
  20. Wow Pops....you got way to much time on your hands...
  21. When interviewing i like to ask "why do you feel you are qualified for this position?" . Dont let them get away with stereo-typical answers, push them until its awkward and see how they handle themselves. Self-confidence goes miles when dealing with the public....
  22. If memory serves me...it was common knowledge that this was a "young" Celina team which was not as strong as years past...That being said, how incredible is it that , despite being "down", they got it together and made it all the way to the final game of the year ? I applaud the Celina players for their resolve and determination. In my opinion, these young men took it upon themselves to prove the naysayers wrong and uphold the proud tradition of Bobcat football. There is alot to be learned from this from other programs on the outside looking in... maybe even Prosper...
  23. What a great story ! It is stories like this that serve to remind me that there are still a lot of wonderful people in this world. The Grapevine community should be proud of their team and supporters. What a class act and incredible gesture by the head coach... ...They gotta know how much you care before they care how much you know...
  24. Isn't this the place the Parsons family owns/operates? The same Parsons from KVNE ?? What a tragedy...
  25. Holy Cow Fellas... for the sake of some of us who are interested in these weather updates, call a truce already...
