Read the UIL meeting report. Coach Floyd and boys basketball Coach Thomas who has not been mentioned in this thread were both reprimanded and put on probation for breaking off season practice rules and summer league rules. Nothing mentioned about booster club funds.

MV board voted 5-2 in favor of keeping Coach Floyd after the Superintendent had asked the board to terminate the coach.

Winnsboro High School lost one of their best softball players ever when Autumn Romine died in an auto accident early Friday morning. Autumn would have been a junior next year. She was 1st team all-state and 3rd in the nation in total base hits with 73 as a freshman. Also 1st team all-district as a freshman and sophmore. Autumn could play every postion equally well. As a freshman she pitched half of the teams games, caught, played 1st, 3rd, and left field. This season she pitched, caught, and played shortstop. In just two seasons she is already the career leader for Winnsboro's softball program in total base hits. Autumn struck out only 8 times in 250 plate appearances. She was lead-off hitter and a tough out for opponents! We miss you Autumn!

I'm looking for information on the local tournaments done by the high school coaches in East Texas.

Does anyone have the high school tournament schedule for this summer?

jackuup8, as usual when your're talking about Winnsboro/Quitman you make up most of it. Winnsboro and Quitman played one regular season non-district game in 2005 and Quitman won 3-2. That was the first game they played against each other since the late 90's and they did not play in 2006. Update your info!

There are 2 divisions in football. Out of the three teams that make the playoffs reguardless of their finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd the largest school (enrollment) goes to division 1 and plays for the division 1 championship. The other two schools play in the division 2 champioship.
