  1. I don't mind the law...some of the junk going on has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with sexuality. It's not very common but there should still be someone at least trying to keep some of these schools half decent. Only thing is, like everyone else is saying, who's to say what is decent and what isn't? Everyone's opinion is different.
  2. I can see where some people could interpret the flood not necesarilly like, Sodom or Gomorrah, but as a way to "clean up." New Orleans has thousands of people, good and bad. I think the hurricane was just a way of showing peoples' true character. You could even interpret it as a test upon us to see whether or not we are willing to help the victims out. I'm not Baptist, but from what I can tell Baptist churches have donated a lot of money to disaster relief. Either the pastor has a different interpretation on the hurricane than most other Americans or the the board just didn't get across what he was really getting at. I can see sort of where the pastor is gettin at though- New Orleans is the sin city of the south and it's temporarily destroyed. I don't know the pastor but I would find it pretty far fetched to say he was trying to say something about the victims.
  3. Well said. It's pretty bad when some political bum can throw a few curse words into a sentance and gain popularity. The guy failed New Orleans and yet he wants to blame everybody but himself. Local government is the first line of defense against any national disaster...unless you're in New Orleans. The city is below sea level and yet nothing was done to evacuate those that couldn't leave on their own. I'm definately not saying it was all his fault, but I think aa chunk of blame should be on him.
  4. Seeing as though the government doesn't allow monopolies, it shouldn't allow gas companies to act as a monopoly by gouging consumers to death. The oil industry is just one big monopoly. Americans can't function without their cars and we are willing to pay whatever price industry demands in order to stay comfortable. There's no reason prices won't continue to rise. We aren't making sacrifices and the government isn't regulating business.
