  1. When you have 2 interceptions...1 in endzone...a dropped pass in endzone...an onside kick recovery that leads to a td and about 100 yds in penalties....that's what happens...great job Carthage
  2. I don't think it's as much of freshman playing up...I only know of like 2 or 3 that got moved up to JV..(freshman starting QB is on JV and I think RB as well)....I honestly believe they haven't really practiced much at all..???..I'm not sure how many Sophomore that are on varsity right now either
  3. I'm not missing this game...something special might happen
  4. does ol Suratt still do his pregame interview every week??
  5. Ha...I could also sit at home and listen on the radio
  6. now why would I want to sit over there..??
  7. anyone know do we buy tickets online only or do they sell at the gate..??
  8. it's crazy how close the majority of the games have been...literally dog fights!!
  9. found this article from before State Championship game in 2013 https://etsn.fm/breaking-down-the-history-of-the-carthage-vs-kilgore-football-rivalry/
  10. I know Mike Vallery was 10-1 in his coaching career vs Carthage...only loss was in 2009 (29-17 @ Carthage)....I don't know when Carthage started playing games at their current stadium, but from my knowledge since 2009 I cant remember a time Kilgore has won at Carthage
  11. I guess go ahead and add 10...according to 89Falcon yall fixing to have a field day...
  12. I was told by someone who went it was 5-2...soo what is false about it..??...and if false then what was the outcome??...and if Kilgore struggled to cover then that means Center must of scored a lot of points..??
  13. Kilgore returns starting QB who threw for over 2200 yds last year with 22 passing td's...so, yes we sling it around
  14. From what I have heard on scrimmages...we outscored Center 5-2 in controlled...no live qtrs...then scrimmage Pleasant Grove. Don't know how controlled portion went but heard in 3 live qtrs Kilgore scored once and Pleasant Grove didn't score...???....heard both teams looked really good and it was a very competitive scrimmage
  15. Keyword "should "....but I know it's Carthage and they reload, they don't rebuild...I'm just saying being it's early and your defense has a lot of question marks and "shouldn't" be playing their best ball early, especially in the first game...if they struggle and allow a team like Kilgore to establish itself, Carthage will be in trouble...a high powered offense is no good on the sidelines and Kilgore is good enough to win...granted it's early and Kilgore will make mistakes too...I just think this game is way closer than some may think...I'm just glad we get to play a good team like Carthage in a game...this can only make us better win or lose
  16. Well if you ask CowboyandChrist everyone is bigger, better and stronger...
  17. so what was the overall outcome..??....I haven't seen or heard anything about the scrimmage...but I wouldn't put too much stock into a first scrimmage/practice against anyone...too many moving pieces
  18. Yep and last year Kilgore intercepted Lindale to end the game...crazy how they both ended
  19. the renovation is dragging...last I drove by they still didn't even have turf down....concrete looked like it was poured but the construction on bathrooms, concessions hadn't even started..???...not sure what the deal is but I know there is talk about be prepared to play more road games.....I know they are still "hopeful" it will be ready, but who knows...after what I have seen and heard it sure doesn't look like it will be ready....guess we shall see!!
  20. @ Pleasant Grove (scrimmage) @ #1 Carthage week 1 @ #2 Gilmer week 2 plus playing Chapel Hill and Lindale, etc in District and heck if our stadium isn't ready we may be traveling a lot more..
  21. Kilgore's Freshman team group was really good...I think lost like 2 or 3 games since 7th/8th grade....two loses were to Palestine...I'm not sure the exact class they will be this year...they are either going into Sophomore year or Junior year..???...either way they are pretty talented
  22. I too believe Chapel Hill is going to be really good....my only concern with them is can they stop anyone else from scoring...the best way to beat a high powered offense is to keep it off the field as much as possible...if other teams are able to run the ball and control the clock Chapel Hill will be in trouble...as far as Kilgore, I truly believe they have the potential to be as good or better than last year...depends on how quick the OLine gets rolling. I think the team in the district everyone might keep their eye on is Palestine. I think they had a very very good freshman or JV team that pretty much rolled everyone..???..overall, I believe this district is going to be very competitive with 3 different teams having legit shots to win it
