Skeet was a very special person, loved kids, not just Marshall kids but all kids. He encouraged all kids no matter where they came from. He was known all over East Texas by coaches and fans. I considered him a brother and I'm hurting this morning but I know he is in a better place. I will miss him dearly as will Mav nation. He fought a good fight but no more suffering now Skeet. Horns Up brother!

Asking for prayers for my good buddy Skeet Jernigan, a long time Marshall Maverick supporter. Skeet is having some health issues and is in the hospital in Longview. If you have ever been to a Maverick sporting event you've probably seen Skeet there, he loves his Mavs and needs our prayers.

Marshall returns quite a few pieces of the puzzle, JJ will have Savion along with DD Williams #11 who is a sophomore who is a smaller version of Tahj with speed & quickness. Another sophomore wr James Thomas could be next years big time wr. The oline returns several starters along with some talented JV linemen moving up. Several other young playmakers will be moving up to the varsity. The defense lost some big time players but the dline could be the strongest unit in experience. Two solid lbs in Hyter & Turner return along Grant who returned the fumble against Nederland for 6. Coach Poth & Randle along with the other defensive coaches are proven & will have their unit ready.

Where is their defense ranked?

Marshall has had some good defensive teams in the past but this group may have more overall speed than any of those & they are improving weekly. They are also very young on defense. Linebackers will bring it. Should be a good one Friday night.

Marshall has a Bender package on offense, they will be prepared whether it’s JJ or Bender. Sooner(Bender) has played a lot of football, he wants the ball & you load the box he has bullets in Tahj, Sa & mighty mite Mitchell - he will spin it.

This same officiating crew worked the J’Ville game last week against PT, no complaints about them in that game???

JJ’s 7td passes against MP was one short of the Texas high school record of 8 in a game. Only played 2-1/2 qtrs against MP.

Got to agree with Champ, I was on the sideline and that was a bad call.

Marshall 88 team, they will be honored on the 19th. 40th anniversary, many of those guys will be there night.

There are a lot of people with that opinion also. He’s a physical player. May be the best athlete in the district.

The entire knee must be covered. Jersey's can't be rolled up to reveal stomach. For those who opt to wear a back plate, it can't be exposed. T-shirt can't show below the jersey. My question is how close with these rules be followed by officials?
