  1. only if you have Bulldog sticker in your back glass will you be towed
  2. Someone just put up 4 reserve on Buckeye Booster site to highest bidder. Really, go look https://www.facebook.com/groups/101450069047/permalink/10155817065459048/
  3. Well I have distributed my 8. About 2 hours ago my sister called and said she had two more reserved if I wanted them. I passed and she has already gotten them gone.
  4. what do you mean? The coaches don't care. They want a 100 yard field with 2 goal posts. Everyone needs to give it up already. We played in Carthage last year and we playing in Gilmer this year. Done deal
  5. I don't want to derail the thread......but Shipley in pregame catching one handed bombs was a thing of beauty. Over and over, I had never seen anything like that.
  6. Have friends in Carthage. Always pull for them when they aren't playing the Buckeyes. One of the greatest games I ever saw was when Carthage upset Brownwood. I was right in the middle of the Brownwood faithful and they had many colorful things to say about the Dawgs!!!
  7. The Gilmer band has their own section on the visitors side that is not connected to the visitors bleachers.
  8. In the past in games with crowds like this, the Gilmer band was put in the endzone. Haven't heard that this was happening so far.
  9. Presold tickets at GHS are sold out. If you are not in possession you better be in line EARLY
  10. I agree and I'm not by any means trying to down play the matchup. It's just that 99% of our history has come in 9 some odd years. That's not a rivalry.....that's a big game. As a fan I can't wait.......but I'll trade a 42-21 beatdown for a DII championship in December and be right there to cheer Carthage on if they are there too. It's all in how you look at it.
  11. Put all them hillside munchkins in jail. Lol
  12. http://www.easttexasmatters.com/news/local-news/gilmer-isd-to-implement-new-rules-ahead-of-showdown-with-carthage/813485016
  13. How many times have Gilmer and Carthage played? It's not many when you look at the history side. It's just that lately it has been some really big games between 2 big time programs. That doesn't make them a rivalry. Now if we can continue this game for a few years or we somehow get back n the same district, yea maybe I can see it happening.
  14. Atlanta 2003. Nobody remembers they started 0-4. They just remember the state championship. LE has the talent. I have no idea why they can't get the wires to touch.
  15. 2005 new. I guess 12 years makes me a rookie I don't know. Anyway Carthage should probably be the favorite. To most in obsessed Gilmer fans that doesn't matter. Game is at home, we are pretty dang good ourselves and this train has been rolling a long time. We will show up and put a good product on the field. Just like I said last year. Week 16 this game will be a distant memory. Both teams have higher ambitions. This one is used to help both get better. The coaches understand that. The players understand that. It's the fans that don't. Lol
  16. So far for the most part this has been a lot of Carthage posters patting each other on the back telling themselves how bad they gonna beat us. Getting a lot of help from the usual suspects. Maybe that will all work out for you. Maybe not. Carry on.
  17. Building the house brick by brick. Every win, every good thing that happens will be seen and used as positive building blocks. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will Lee's program, but I think it's going in a good direction.
  18. I said my piece about LE cramps on another thread so I'll hush about that. But I did see something I have never seen in a high school game Friday. Gilmer had a kid get hurt out of bounds on about the 32. I thought it was a slight knee injury but it could have been a cramp. Anyway, play was stopped for a minute or two with both teams lined up ready to go. The ref comes over to Gilmer bench and tells the trainers, and I quote "if y'all will drag that kid back to the 35 we will get back underway".
  19. LE always impresses me when they hit the field. I don't understand why every year they can find them big ole linemen and we can't. Although I do think our o-line is a little bigger this year. Game was a lot of fun but also aggravating because of the lack of defense on both sides. I would say we were very fortunate to come out on top. Been a long time since I had been to Harris Field. It looked great and the upgrades are very nice.
  20. Yes, that was obvious from the 25 stoppages of play from "cramps". LE has a history of that all the way back to the LaMichael years. It's coached and it's trashy. They do it every dang time we play them.
  21. I am happier to hear Henderson was kept out of the endzone than anything about our offense.
