SECOND SEASON: District play begins! The Alto Yellowjackets travel to Big Sandy to take on the Wildcats in the District 10-2A opener on Friday, October 11th. The Jackets are 5-0 for the first time since 2015 with wins over Westwood, Timpson, New Diana, Garrison, and Corrigan-Camden. Big Sandy has losses to San Augustine, Timpson, Mineola, and Rivercrest; they defeated Alba-Golden in Week 2. The Jackets took this one last season 21-12. Who starts district 1-0?

The 2019 football season is on the horizon! The first prediction for District 10-2A that I have seen was on Twitter today by Scouting Report (@SR_scouting) SO I thought I would go ahead and start this thread. I like the way this looks.

Time for the SECOND SEASON! The Alto Yellowjackets (3-2) host the Big Sandy Wildcats (2-3) in the District 10-2A opener on Friday, October 12th. The Jackets started fast with wins over Westwood, Timspon, and New Diana but fell in the next two games vs. Garrison and Corrigan-Camden. The Mean Sting had a bye last week. Big Sandy has lost to San Augustine, defeated Alba-Golden and Timpson, but have lost two in a row to Mineola and Rivercrest. This game has playoff implications as both will be looking to get a leg up in the district standings and challenge undefeated Carlisle. Who ends their two-game losing streak and gets in the win column with a very important 1-0 record in district?!

Nobody is perfect but no one wants to see any of these teams in the playoffs. I think they all deserve a little pat on the back especially the Union Hill Bulldogs who are giving up an average of 10 points a game but in reality they just had two close ones where as they surrendered a touchdown or less in most of their games. Gilmer BUCKEYES 8-1 Union Hill Bulldogs 8-1 Gladewater Bears 7-1 Harmony Eagles 7-2 Big Sandy Wildcats 7-2 Union Grove Lions 6-2 These other teams get recognition a lot but just WoW this county is getting it done!!

Overton at Big Sandy, 6 p.m. Friday at Wildcat Stadium So yeah, once again, it's just a scrimmage — but it sure beats playing with yourself. Uh, I mean, it sure beats playing against yourself. Please don't ban me. But anyway... What are some things you're hoping to see out of your kids? Overton showed some backfield depth, but struggled to pass the ball. Defensively there was poor tackling and blown assignments. Was this just early-season jitters or a sign of things to come? Big Sandy remains a mystery as well. They've got some young talent on the roster but are struggling to assert themselves. Both teams have good coaching staffs, and they've got their programs going in the right direction. It'll be interesting to see which team has made more progress during the preseason. Thoughts?
