  1. The Alto Yellowjackets will hopefully return to the gridiron this coming Friday when the Carlisle Indians are scheduled to come to town. Alto HS dismissed classes Thursday and Friday because of high absences due to Covid and is set to resume school on Tuesday, September 7. The game with Timpson was cancelled. The Jackets and Indians have one common opponent: Troup, both losses. Alto fell 48-18 while Carlisle lost 41-26. Both squads are looking for that first dub! These teams have a special bond because of one night back in 2015 when Alto lost Cam’ron Matthews on the field of play during the Carlisle game. Total respect between these teams. That being said it looks like it’s Alto’s turn to win this one and I’ll take it! (See pattern below! Just sayin’!) Lol The series is tight with the Jackets leading 7-6-2. Who ya got?
  2. The 2019 football season is on the horizon! The first prediction for District 10-2A that I have seen was on Twitter today by Scouting Report (@SR_scouting) SO I thought I would go ahead and start this thread. I like the way this looks.
  3. Which Area game should I go shoot this week?
  4. The Alto Yellowjackets (6-0 | 1-0) will host the Carlisle Indians (4-2 | 1-0) in a key District 10-2A contest Friday, October 18th. The winner has a leg up in the district championship race. The Jackets were soundly defeated last year at Carlisle and hope to avenge the loss this season at home. It’s been since 2016 that Carlisle played at Alto. The series is tight with the Jackets holding a slight edge 6-5-2. Who wins the 2019 version of Alto-Carlisle? 2018 Price Carlisle 55-12 DIS 2017 Alto 31-28 DIS 2016 Price Carlisle 28-7 DIS 2015 Alto 21-8 DIS 2014 Alto 52-34 DIS 2009 Alto 35-0 DIS 2008 Alto 28-0 DIS 1965 Alto 20-0 1957 Price Carlisle 26-7 1956 Tie 12-12 1953 Price Carlisle 7-0 1952 Tie 6-6 1939 Price Carlisle 22-0
  5. The first day of practice is days away!! The new District 10-2A consists of Alto, Big Sandy, Carlisle, Cushing, Hawkins, and Union Grove. Time to start the football talk! Week 1: Alto @ Palestine Westwood Big Sandy vs. San Augustine @ Beckville Sabine @ Carlisle Cushing @ Chilton Hawkins @ Alba-Golden Union Grove @ Simms Bowie EXCITED for this season to begin! How do you think this district will shake out?
  6. The Alto Yellowjackets (4-2 | 1-0) travel to undefeated and state ranked Carlisle (6-0 | 1-0) to take on the Indians in a key District 10-2A contest. The winner has a leg up in the district championship race. The Mean Sting squeaked by the Indians 31-28 last year while Carlisle defeated the Jackets 28-7 the year before. Both teams are battle tested this season. Should be a fun game!
  7. Carlisle needs basketball games for jv/v boys on January 3rd and 6th. Contact Cal Goss at [email protected]
  8. Mustangs at Indians 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9 Arrowhead Stadium, Price
  9. Well, I can't believe this hasn't already posted (and I can't believe I gotta be the one to start the conversation), but what about Union Grove and Carlisle, y'all? I'm reading a lot about Union Grove returning to the postseason, and maybe even playing for a district title, but nobody saying squat about the Indians of Price-Carlisle? Yeah sure, they're replacing some guys but it's not as though they've completely forgotten how to play football out there. I'm taking the fightin' Rocky Bakers in this'n. I say they roll 'em up from start to finish. Carlisle pumps the brakes late, and the Lions sneak a coupla scores against the 2s, but the outcome of this game is never in doubt. Indians win 38-14.
  10. Both teams are undefeated in their districts and look set to make a run in the playoffs and hopefully an appearance in the state tournament. Can Douglass finally get over the hump and beat Carlisle this year, or will Carlisle pull it out in a one-game series again?
