No better way to get this season started than against the neighbors from down the road. Groveton’s strength seems to be their size along the OL/DL and Lovelady’s strength seems to be at the skill positions. There doesn’t seem to be any love lost between these two rivals so I expect it to be an all out war. I like our chances as I see us spreading them out and being a mismatch for them in the open field. Should be a good one. Let’s hear some thoughts from the smoaky experts!

With neither team able to gain or lose seed 1st rnd has already been set: Lovelady vs Kerens Tuesday Feb 20th at Leon High School.

Lady lions beat Hubbard 48 to 35. Play winner of Centerville and Crawford. Date time location tba.

Another tough matchup for the lady lions. But then again I thought Kerens was gonna be tough. Ended up being a blowout.

Both are good teams! Who y'all got ? I think lovelady gonna have a tough time against Kerens. We've been slumping lately....

Grapeland hits a 3 to force OT. Lovelady misses a 3 to end game. Why they wanna shoot a 3 when your down two is beyond my belief....Smh. idk who this coach rollo is, but he needs to Go!

So, if Lovelady wins they win district, if groveton wins AND Centerville loses, they'd win district (the win would be the tiebreaker, right?) But if groveton wins AND centerville wins, that'd make all 3 teams each have 1 loss. So how'd they break the tie?

Lions defeat Saratoga West Hardin 64-0. They control their own destiny. Win @ groveton, won district.

Last year, in week 3 at Lovelady, the Lions held off a Ram comeback by stopping a 2 point conversion attempt with 1:28 left in the game to preserve a 21-20 victory. Eight weeks later in the bi-district playoff at Bullard, the Lions showed that they had improved much more than the Rams did over the course of the season, taking control on their opening drive and pounding their way to a 33-16 win. Now the series moves to Ram Stadium, with both teams coming in with 1-1 records, having notched their first win of the season this past Friday. The Rams pounded Maud 58-7, while the Lions man handled Anderson-Shiro 38-20. Who gets the W this time?

Lovelady (0-1) @ Anderson-Shiro (0-0). Lovelady is coming off a painful last minute defeat of their arch rival Grapeland while Anderson-Shiro opens their season. Lovelady is ranked 32nd in 2a-I while Anderson-Shiro is 84th in 3a-II.

This should be a great ball game. Both teams coming off of big wins. I could see either of these teams winning this game.

My understanding is lovelady and Cushing game 1 is in lovelady now due to wet field in Cushing? What about 2 and (if needed) 3? The locations? Thanks
