  1. Atlanta Gladewater Jefferson Sabine Tatum White Oak Overall, I think Jefferson is the only team that will be stronger in 2022. Gladewater, Sabine, Tatum, and White Oak all graduated a lot so I see all 4 not being as good as last year. As far as Atlanta, too many question marks for me to have an opinion on them. I don't see them going 0-10 again mainly because of their schedule. Just my initial, early thoughts. What say you?
  2. I'm interested to see what everyone's thoughts are. Malakoff and Pottsboro are the teams to beat right now. Sabine is looking really good. D7 is getting dicey, and I think all 5 teams could make a run. I think Hooks is the dark horse in the region.
  3. Posting thread for results and standings as the district schedule progresses. Predictions: BOYS 1&2 Chapel Hill/Spring Hill 3&4 Gilmer/Kilgore 5 Gladewater 6 Bullard GIRLS 1&2 Chapel Hill/Gilmer 3 Bullard 4&5 Kilgore/Spring Hill 6 Gladewater
  4. Atlanta, Tatum, and Gladewater dropping could be very tough to stop these young studs. Will they make some deep runs next couple years? I think they will be top contenders the next few years!
  5. Nobody is perfect but no one wants to see any of these teams in the playoffs. I think they all deserve a little pat on the back especially the Union Hill Bulldogs who are giving up an average of 10 points a game but in reality they just had two close ones where as they surrendered a touchdown or less in most of their games. Gilmer BUCKEYES 8-1 Union Hill Bulldogs 8-1 Gladewater Bears 7-1 Harmony Eagles 7-2 Big Sandy Wildcats 7-2 Union Grove Lions 6-2 These other teams get recognition a lot but just WoW this county is getting it done!!
  6. I'll add a preview tomorrow! Excited for this matchup! Atlanta Rabbits(5-2) vs Gladewater Bears(5-1) Gladewater's opponents combined records - (21-23) .457 Atlanta's opponents combined records - (25-17) .595 The series is tied at (8-8), dating all the way back to 1962. Gladewater averages 40.5 PPG, while allowing just 15.7 PPG. Atlanta averages 32 PPG, while allowing 24 PPG. Last 5 meetings: 2015 - Atlanta - 35 | Gladewater - 28 2014 - Gladewater - 36 | Atlanta - 14 2013 - Gladewater - 34 | Atlanta - 33 - Area playoff 2013 - Gladewater - 46 | Atlanta - 39 2012 - Atlanta - 31 | Gladewater - 20 Atlanta is coming in after a close, come from behind win against Pleasant Grove (14-7). Gladewater is coming up short in after playing a close game in a East Texas classic with Gilmer (28-35). 7. IMHO: Gilmer and Chapel Hill are favorites in the boys to win district. Bullard and Spring Hill probably lead the girls. Post 'Em all season long Good Luck!
  8. I could be wrong about this but I think it's the first time Gilmer, Gladewater, and Union Grove are district champions in the same season. All being close on 271 is pretty cool. Their combined records were 29-1. Some good ball being played on that stretch of road. Congratulations to the teams. Good luck in the playoffs.
  9. Well, I can't believe this hasn't already posted (and I can't believe I gotta be the one to start the conversation), but what about Union Grove and Carlisle, y'all? I'm reading a lot about Union Grove returning to the postseason, and maybe even playing for a district title, but nobody saying squat about the Indians of Price-Carlisle? Yeah sure, they're replacing some guys but it's not as though they've completely forgotten how to play football out there. I'm taking the fightin' Rocky Bakers in this'n. I say they roll 'em up from start to finish. Carlisle pumps the brakes late, and the Lions sneak a coupla scores against the 2s, but the outcome of this game is never in doubt. Indians win 38-14.
