Today begins the 2018-19 high school baseball season! Four 2A schools (Alto, Cushing, Douglass, Groveton) and three 1A schools (Apple Springs, Kennard, Wells) come together to comprise District 22. The 2A schools will play each other three times in district play and the 1A schools one time. Douglass (28-7 | 11-1 Regional Finalist in 2018) is the pre-season #2 team in the state while Cushing (12-10-1 | 7-5 Area Finalist) also gets a mention. Groveton (14-10 | 9-3 Regional Quarterfinalist) is just two years removed from playing in the state tournament while Alto returns six starters from a 26-6 | 10-2 Area Finalist team with a talented freshman group coming.
