  1. https://thefederalist.com/2020/10/12/cdc-study-finds-overwhelming-majority-of-people-getting-coronavirus-wore-masks/?fbclid=IwAR2hKuAV2eVE4rBkwh0dY0MmbDSZRZWjKWUkmUJmSwzX9eLCJ60Trrm_WK0#.X4SraUYnyEQ.facebook A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them. A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from the same health care facility who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask. “In the 14 days before illness onset, 71% of case-patients and 74% of control participants reported always using cloth face coverings or other mask types when in public,” the report stated. In addition, over 14 percent of the case-patients said they “often” wore a face covering and were still infected with the virus. The study also demonstrates that under 4 percent of the case-patients became sick with the virus even though they “never” wore a mask or face covering. Despite over 70 percent of the case-patient participants’ efforts to follow CDC recommendations by committing to always wearing face coverings at “gatherings with ≤10 or >10 persons in a home; shopping; dining at a restaurant; going to an office setting, salon, gym, bar/coffee shop, or church/religious gathering; or using public transportation,” they still contracted the virus. While the study notes that some of these people may have contracted the virus from the few moments that they removed their mask to eat or drink at “places that offer on-site eating or drinking,” the CDC concedes that there is no successful way to evaluate if that was the exact moment someone became exposed and contracted the virus. “Characterization of community exposures can be difficult to assess when widespread transmission is occurring, especially from asymptomatic persons within inherently interconnected communities,” the report states. In fact, the report suggests that “direction, ventilation, and intensity of airflow might affect virus transmission, even if social distancing measures and mask use are implemented according to current guidance.” Despite this new scientific information, the CDC, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci, and many political authorities are still encouraging people to wear masks. Many states and cities have even mandated masks, citing them as one of the main tools to “slow the spread” of coronavirus and keep case numbers in their area down. 2. What is the date for the official count. What day are they using to turn in the official attendance count to determine classification?

  4. I know this website/forum primarily deals with East and Northeast Texas but I figured i'd give some info for Southeast Texas. It's that time of year everyone! The UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest! Below is the schedule set on the uilforms.com/regions/10 website. I hope the weather will be cool like it was last year. This is a state year for the new 4A and 6A classification so all 4A and 6A schools that earn a Division 1 Rating will advance to their respective Area Marching Band Contests. As an observer for many years of this contest (and participant, 2000-03 Jasper High School Bulldog Marching Band), there are 36 bands participating in this year's contest. Also, we have two new schools in our region by way of Region 21: Diboll and Lufkin: Hudson. My brother and I will be video recording all the performances for fun and posting the videos onto youtube like we have done since 2006. For past performances, please visit https://www.youtube....ser/rocketfan86. I have managed to find some older videos of the region's high school marching bands. I will update this post and thread when adding ratings and announcing when videos start going up onto youtube. Thanks and best wishes to all the participating bands! 2014 REGION 10, UIL MARCHING CONTEST SCHEDULE OCTOBER 18, 2014, PORT NECHES-GROVES HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMANCE CLASS TIME SCHOOL AA 9:00 COLMESNEIL - 3 3 3 = 3 AA 9:15 WEST HARDIN - 2 3 1 = 2 AA 9:30 HULL-DAISETTA - 1 2 1 = 1 AAA 9:45 EAST CHAMBERS - 2 1 2 = 2 AAA 10:00 BUNA - 2 1 2 = 2 AAA 10:15 KIRBYVILLE - 1 1 1 = 1 AAA 10:30 WOODVILE - 2 2 2 = 2 BREAK 10:45 BREAK AAA 11:00 WARREN - 1 2 2 = 2 AAA 11:15 CORRIGAN-CAMDEN - 3 3 3 = 3 AAA 11:30 HARDIN - 2 1 1 = 1 AAA 11:45 DEWEYVILLE - 1 2 1 = 1 AAA 12:00 KOUNTZE - 1 1 1 = 1 AAA 12:15 ANAHUAC - 2 1 1 = 1 LUNCH 12:30 LUNCH AAAA 1:30 DIBOLL - 1 1 1 = 1* AAAA 1:45 LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE - 2 1 1 = 1* AAAA 2:00 SILSBEE - 2 2 2 = 2 AAAA 2:15 HAMSHIRE-FANNETT - 2 2 1 = 2 AAAA 2:30 JASPER - 2 2 2 = 2 AAAA 2:45 WEST ORANGE-STARK - DNA BREAK 3:00 BREAK AAAA 3:15 HUDSON - 1 2 1 = 1 AAAA 3:30 HARDIN-JEFFERSON - 1 2 2 = 2 AAAA 3:45 BRIDGE CITY - 1 1 1 = 1* AAAA 4:00 ORANGEFIELD - 2 2 2 = 2 AAAA 4:15 LIBERTY - 1 1 1 = 1* AAAAA 4:30 DAYTON - 1 1 1 = 1 AAAAA 4:45 VIDOR - 1 1 1 = 1 BREAK 5:00 BREAK AAAAA 5:15 ROBERT E.
