Smoaky
Waskom athletic director Brian Griffin has confirmed the resignation of head football coach Brian Lowe. Lowe replaced Nathan Turner, and the Wildcats just finished an 0-10 season. Griffin also confirmed the job will become an AD/Football position when he moves into administration after basketball season. David Smoak

Wild74
Waskom will be a tough job for any coach it is not a position at this time to be envied. I do believe that changing the AD position back to Football is a positive step, mainly because of pay. Griffin is a excellent coach and will also work well in the administration end of things also. I do think it will take 3 to 4 years of consistent work here for a coach to rebuild a program from the ground up starting at the 7th grade level. Waskom will be going to 2A next year and the competition will only get harder after having no success at the 1A level. I think if a coach can come through here and turn this program around though it will be a good step for him in moving to a higher level with success on the playing field and excellence in education.
