bordertown
A flash flood struck a popular campground regions at Albert Pike. At least 12 have been found dead and many more are missing. While this tragedy occurred outside the "foot print" of Smoaky.com, I fear it will be felt within our community. This is a popular site for residents in the Texarkana area to camp. Keep the victims, their families and rescuers in your prayers.

While this tragedy occurred outside the "foot print" of Smoaky.com, I fear it will be felt within our community. This is a popular site for residents in the Texarkana area to camp. Keep the victims, their families and rescuers in your prayers. My prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy. When I was growing up my family had a small cabin there. I have not been to Albert Pike in years, but know the camping area very well. May God grant strength to all the families involved.
bordertown
Many of these cabins are built in pilings about 10 feet above river. Water reported rose 20 feet. Those in the cabins were stuck in the middle of a raging river I suspect.
