Panther89 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Who will win this district, and who will come in 2nd place?
cowboy1 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 SH should win this district, and there should be a fight for second and third. Here are the standings: SH: 8-0 (Still must play Gilmer on Friday and Henderson on Tues) Gilmer: 6-2 (However, they still have SH on Fri) Carghage: 5-3 (They have already played SH and Gilmer) My prediction is that SH goes 10-0 in District. Gilmer and Carthage each go 7-3 in District with each having 2 losses to SH each and a loss to each other. i do not know the tie breaker if that occurs.
cowboy1 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Spring Hill clincched District last night with a sweep of Gilmer to go 9-0 in District. Gilmer and Carthage are now tied for second with records of 6-3 with one game left each.
Panther89 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Does anyone have the Spring Hill - Crandall score?
sfacujackcat Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Does anyone have the Spring Hill - Crandall score? This was in another thread....The Lady Panthers swept Crandall, 25-17; 25-13; 25-22. The girls sort of let up in game 3. Anyway, SH will play Rains next week in the Regional Quarterfinals.
Panther89 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 From what I understand, if Spring Hill defeats Emory Rains, then they will face the winner of Carrolton Ranchview and Commerce in the 3rd Round! Is that correct?
cowboy1 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 That is not correct. According to the UIL playoff brackets posted on the UIL website, Prosper defeated Commerce last night. The winner of the Carrolton Ranchview v. Whitesboro game is not yet posted. If SH beats Rains they would play the winner of Prosper and (whoever won the Carrolton Ramchview v. Whitesboro match). SH still has to get past Rains first. The girls need to take them one at a time.
Parisian Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Ranchview and Whitesboro play Saturday. Prosper destroyed Commerce in the area round and should have no problem with either Ranchview or Whitesboro. The Spring Hill-Rains match could be interesting, but I'd go with Spring Hill. cowboy1 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 SH advances to Regional by beating Rains 27-25; 24-26; 25-14; 25-13. The girls played tight in the first game. They were up 23-19 in game two and simply lost focus, but dominated in games 3 and 4. They played relaxed and aggressive in the last two games and it showed. Haven't heard any news on Prosper / Whitesboro match, but i imagine Prosper will be our next opponent.//
Parisian Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Prosper won, 27-25, 25-18, 25-21. Much closer than I would have suspected. See you in Commerce, guys.
TripleDogDare Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Congrats to Paris and Spring Hill. I confess to being a bit envious. Pine Tree played Red Oak fairly tough (25-27, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23) in the 2nd round and then Red Oak had a pretty easy time in the 3rd round to advance to the regional. A few more breaks and the Lady Pirates could have been playing this weekend. But that's the way the ball bounces. Good luck to all.
