need some smack talkin'..........the threads as of late have been more of a casual conversation instead of the usual banter that is usually found on a sports forum..........

Gilmer will be the victor if the fumble monkey is held at bay........ last game of the regular season, we are at home, boys are suited up in the Black Unis', chill in the air, and the playoffs are ready to be decided........... we are ready to send the Pirates back up north with some pooched out lips and the sounds of basketballs thumping in the gym!!!!!!!!!

Good luck this week.... Just wouldnt seem right without Gilmer in the playoffs...

Doc's for sure................on the game I gotta go with Gilmer. They always seem to be prepared, but it would be cool for them to finally not be in the playoffs, sorry Buckeyes. They should have put one team from district in the CH district, it is weak and this district is brutal.

Gilmer - 42

Pitt - 28

the only thing that is going to be blown up is the scoreboard!!!!!!!! the only problem is that it will be on the HOME side............. Pirates will definatley be forced to WALK THE PLANK!!!!!!! Your only saving grace is IF Gwater can pull an upset........... safe travels Pitt..........

Not concerned about the Bears beating the Lions (even though that would not surprise me). I doubt that the scoreboard will be blown up either way. I still say it will more a defensive game. Just keep the smelly critters on your side of the stadium. All of you Gilmore girls are more than welcome to come to our playoff game next Friday.

Don't worry, we'll definitely stay on our side of the stadium. Let's just hope the wind is blowing from the west so we don't have to smell y'all. It sure is gonna be COLD on the Pirate side, too, because I got a feeling there won't be much to cheer about. :smirk: BTW, which team will the Pirate fans follow in the playoffs?

I will tell you sometime in December. You are welcome to wear black and gold and sit with us next week....unless my upset of the week happens then maybe we will get to play each other again.

For any folks planning to sample the fine dining at Doc's, you need to know they close EARLY. I am talking 6 o'clock or so. But it is worth the effort to get there early and belly up to the horseshoe, order about 14 of them bad boys and your favorite acidic soft drink to cut the sludge. And wear your safety glasses! :icon_confused:

Whatever happens Pitt will be taking down Gilmer in all other sports this year!!! :flowers:

I have never understood that mindset.....I am counting on winning tonight. Nothing else matters except which hotlinks are better......Doc's or Pittsburg

I don't think you understand........ Y'all might as well buy something orange to go with the black duds you already have, and you're welcome to come sit with us Buckeye fans next week.

LOL... ha ha! :whome:

Now you know their is a big Pirate tailgate party in the parking lot tonight of buckeye stadium... come early and bring chairs and some extra food!

Some quick thoughts on this thread:

1) Doc's are definitely the best hot links around, but since I had a dozen during Yamboree I've already had my Cholesterol quota for the year.

2) Don't bet against a team whose quarterback is the head coach's son, unless your team's quarterback is the offensive coordinator's son.

3) Both teams have lost games they could have or should have won because of turnovers, so the turnover battle will decide this came.

4) If Pitt had beaten Henderson, this converstion would be a lot different. It wouldn't be "loser goes home" but "Loser plays LE"

5) A mostly healthy Gilmer team would be the best recipe for a Gilmer victory, and Gilmer is mostly healthy (Really wonder what this season would have looked like if Chris and Eric Miller hadn't gone out in week 1, and if Boddie hadn't gone down against Gladewater).

6) If Gilmer's D line can keep pressure on the QB and generate some sacks, Gilmer can win.

I will go with the Gilmer victory. Goal #1, be playing past the time change. Goal #2, be playing past Thanksgiving.

i know it has been a while since we have played one another, but you have to understand that we don't get all worked up about anything other than football and baseball....... at least on the boys side........ basketball, track, cross country, tennis, etc... not that much interest from the Buckeye followers except for the parents and some dedicated fans....... I still attend them anyway...........

Where the heck is this "Gilmore" place you keep talking about? Is there another town around here named "Gilmore"? I've heard Pittsburg called "Stinktown", but.......

It is close to the place that has been referred to on this thread as Pitchburg. Stinktown is north of Pittsburg.....Mt. Pleasant I think is what you are talking about

Being a must win, for both teams, this is gonna be one heck of a football game, with that being said, both have the tools to win, Pittsburg definitely has more seniors, taking the field than Gilmer, but I for somereason think, team for team, Gilmer would be a 10 point favorite, but again with this being a must win for both, I think it's who has the least mistakes wins, Gilmer comes out with fumbleiduss, or tossing int's., gonna be tough to win, but I'f they play their A game, they gotta good shot, and I kinda think, that's the team we will see tonight....Good Luck to the Pirates, and their great fans, I've been in Kansas most of the week, got to read most of this thread, this morning, and I see alot of respect, for both sides...Good Luck again to the Pirates, and have a safe trip over,, watch them deer......"Bring the fire" Buckeyes..and let's close this one out, making a statement for the playoffs..."Go Buckeyes"...

For the Bucks, basketball & football are played at the same time. Track...we got a bunch of slow guys. Tennis is for __________ (can't say that). Baseball is something to occupy the Spring.
