JBizzle Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 How many teams out of the 6 in this district are a lock for the playoffs? Do you think Pitt is the only team that is still trying to make the playoffs? You are correct there sir. I did not do a very good job of making my point there. You got me.
myomy Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Absolutely we got drummed by C.H. There is no denying that, they did everything they wanted to against us and then some. Do I think the outcome would be different if we played them again? Yes. Am I going to say that if we play our game, we WILL win? No. I never said that Pitt should feel like they don't have a chance versus Gilmer. My comment was YOU shouldn't think that Gilmer can't beat you if you run the ball 20 times. :smirk: all you want, if you read my comments you would see that I never said Pitt had no chance. What I said was, you Pitt :homer: 's got wins agains S.H. and Gladewater and all of the sudden the games y'all lost were simply because you didn't run the ball 20 times or you turned it over 5 times. You guys are crazy. What's the use? I never referred to any game concerning running the ball except the Henderson game and the up coming game. Anyone that knows anything about football has to know that you need to be balanced in your offensive attack. If you only run the ball, put 8 in the box, if you pass the ball either pressure the QB or drop LB's back into coverage (only a couple of examples to keep it simple for you), we can do both now. That should make it more difficult for any defense including.....
myomy Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 One part of our game that we didn't do against Tatum and Henderson and haven't done enough is our running game. It was not because of Tatum's defense that we tried to pass so much. If Pitt runs the ball at least 20 times, we will control the clock and the score board at the end of the game. I believe that we will be more balanced on offense and more aggressive on defense. I don't think that anyone from Pittsburg is saying that we are going to blow-out Gilmer or win by 4 TD's. Just like my 11 year old daughter, that has selective hearing, I think that you are reading more into the posts from the Pitt fans. All I am saying is that if Pitt plays like I know that they can, Pitt will win. Not by a blow out but a win is a win. Ask Henderson concerning the game that they played against Pitt. A win is a win. With that being said, if we run the ball 20 times, we will win. Both of the above are direct quotes from myomy. They both say if we do what we do, you can't stop us....That's not cherry picking. You keep saying it, it's not like you slipped up and typed something you didn't mean. I am not denying the above....What do you want us to think? It doesn't matter what we do we are going to get beat? I don't think so. I do think that our kids will rise up and play well. Again, Sir, I will stand by my statements. Not as facts, but in my very humble opinion, could be very true. Go take a deep breath and enjoy the Cowboys, if possible
KrookedWolfe Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 ..Never mind I see where you corrected yourself but I said if Pitt limits their turnovers they will win..No doubt if the run the ball it puts pressure on the defense..Like you have been told--you have a very selective reading ability.. :smirk: Absolutely we got drummed by C.H. I agree, if you keep it balanced it will make your offense harder to stop, but it doesn't mean you can't lose. I am not a Cowboys fan by the way.... ..Never mind I see where you corrected yourself but I said if Pitt limits their turnovers they will win..No doubt if the run the ball it puts pressure on the defense..Like you have been told--you have a very selective reading ability.. :smirk: You are right, there is no way they can lose if they limit their turnovers. I selected to read that.
KrookedWolfe Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010  From one extreme to the other..But hey atleast you CAN read and thats a start.. :smirk: No, I want you to think you have a chance to win if your team plays at it's best....that's all. JBizzle Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010  From one extreme to the other..But hey atleast you CAN read and thats a start.. :smirk: I haven't changed at all, much less from one extreme to the other. I never said Pitt would get housed. As a matter of fact, my prediction back on page 1 was for a close game. If Pitt wins, I will be right back here acknowledging and congratulating them on a job well done. I got no horse in this race, and don't really care who wins. I was just asking a question when this all started. I prefaced my statement with maybe I am reading something into it. Then you and myomy came on and confirmed what I was thinking, that you can't be beat unless you beat yourselves. That's fine, if that's how you believe. I was just asking if that was what you were saying, and you have proven that it is. Believe you can win, just don't think there's nothing the other team can do about it. Especially when that team is as talented as Gilmer.

Let me make this perfectly clear, Gilmer is good and there is a lot of respect from everyone in Pitt towards Gilmer. They can play good defense at times and seems to always be able to score on big plays. And we did beat ourselves when we played Henderson.....
KrookedWolfe Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Pay attention this time JBizzle----If Pitt avoids turnovers--they will win..Teams you are facing usually have something to do with that..Thats not beat yourselves Bizzle.. Penalties which is another problem comes down to coaching or as you like to say beating yourself...If you don't get this point---just re-read the post Bizzle.. :smirk: Gilmers reputation preceeds them, however this year the team is down by all standards..We are discussing ways that we think Pitt can win.. I was just making an observation. I don't really care who wins, although the small school playoffs are supposedly easier. I just love good football. We're cool!

36gut Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 the small school playoffs are supposedly easier. Wow. I think I have to disagree with that. In Division I, you only have to win five games. Often in Division I you are not having to play the district champion. And this year, for sure, if you look at the Top 5 teams, almost all season long they have been teams which are likely to go into Division II. Henderson is still quite likely to make the playoffs and go into Division I as the third-place team out of District 16-3A and still may go several rounds deep (first two games would likely be against North Lamar and Lindale). That probably wouldn't happen if it were in Division II. I just checked last week's AP Top 5 and all but Celina are slated to go into Division II. Even Celina would be going Division II if it weren't in that freaky district with a bunch of schools which barely have 3A numbers.
