Mavchamp
It is what it is......or was what it was. I'm more interested in what the standings say and the playoff chase. -------------------------------- 2/1 Men's Scores Marshall beat Hallsville 63-54 Jacksonville beat Kilgore 39-22 Whitehouse beat Nacogdoches 59-56 JT beat PT 50-48 Men's Standings John Tyler 10-0 (21-3) Marshall 7-3 (22-6) Whitehouse 7-3 (10-10) Jacksonville 6-4 (18-10) Pine Tree 4-6 (13-14) Hallsville 3-7 (13-15) Nacogdoches 2-8 (13-17) Kilgore 1-9 (8-14) Only four games remain to the season and there is still plenty to keep an eye on for the stretch run. JT's win over PT Wednesday may have officially ended the Pirate's hopes of catching Jacksonville, whom they trail by 2 games. PT had quietly moved themselves in the race, but the latest loss may have all but sealed their fate. Marshall's win over Hallsville and WH's win over Nac kept those two teams tied for second place. WH holds the current tie breaker with a win in their first game. Jacksonville bounced back with a win over Kilgore. The Indians are only one game behind the Mavs and the Wildcats. While JT is in firm control of the district lead, the final two weeks could add up to a photo finish between Marshall, Whitehouse, and Jacksonville. PT will need to win out and hope for some help along the way. Hallsville, Nac, and Kilgore are looking to play the role of spoilers. ---------------------------------------------- 2/1 Ladies' Scores Jacksonville beat Kilgore 60-37 Hallsville beat Marshall 49-44 JT beat PT 74-47 Nac beat WH 46-32 Ladies' Standings Jacksonville 11-1 (22-11) Marshall 9-3 (17-9) Hallsville 9-3 (16-13) John Tyler 8-4 (17-12) Nacogdoches 6-6 (11-14) Pine Tree 3-9 (10-19) Whitehouse 1-11 (4-20) Kilgore 1-

Mavchamp
** CLINCHED THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP *CLINCHED A PLAYOFF SPOT Men's Standings John Tyler 11-0 (22-3)* Marshall 8-3 (23-6)* Whitehouse 7-4 (10-11)* Jacksonville 7-4 (19-10) Pine Tree 4-7 (13-15) -----Eliminated-------- Hallsville 3-8 (13-16) Nacogdoches 2-9 (13-18) Kilgore 2-9 (9-14) TUESDAY'S GAMES: Possible Three way tie for Second place looms for Mavs, Wildcats, and Indians. Marshall and JT have both already clinched their playoff spots, but each team has business to still take care of. JT can clinched the district championship with a win. Marshall would like a win to not only remain all alone in second place, but also to keep their SLIM chances at a district title alive. This game has the makings of a playoff atmosphere with a week left in the regular season. Jax Vs. Hallsville- Provided the tribe avoids an upset to PT on Monday, a win over Hallsville could pull them into a tie for second place with Marshall unless the Mavs pull off an upset over JT. However....if the Tribe does get upset by PT, then the Indians could be fighting for the playoff lives as the Pirates would only be one game behind with three games left, making a win over Hallsville a must. PT Vs. Whitehouse- The importance of this game is completely dependent on the outcome of Monday's game the Pirates have against Jax. A loss on Monday will render this game basically meaningless as the Pirates would be eliminated from the post season race. However... if the Bucs can pull off the upset on Monday, then this game becomes another elimination game for PT. WH meanwhile would like a win because that would pull them into a tie for second place with Marshall (and perhaps Jax). Nac Vs. Kilgore- This is the only game Tuesday night that has no bearing on the playoff chase. BUT....it's hardly meaningless. Each team is tied for last place in the standings. The winner will move up to 7th place, while the loser will remain in the district cellar. ---------------------------------------------- Ladies' Standings Jacksonville 12-1 (23-11)** Marshall 10-3 (18-9)* Hallsville 10-3 (17-13)* John Tyler 9-4 (18-12)* --------Eliminated--------- Nacogdoches 6-7 (11-15) Pine Tree 3-10 (10-20) Whitehouse 1-12 (4-21) Kilgore 1-12 TUESDAY'S GAMES: Like the men, a possible Three way tie for Second place looms for Lady Mavs, Ladycats, and Lady Lions. Hallsville Vs. Jacksonville- The Lady Maidens have already punctuated their regular season with the district championship. Meanwhile, Hallsville is looking to set themselves up THE #2 team in the district. A Ladycat win would clinch the #2 spot for H-ville if JT beats Marshall. However a loss could place them into a possible three way tie for second place with Marshall and JT if the Lady Lions beat Marshall. Marshall Vs. JT- The Lady Mavs- The Lady Mavs could clinch the #2 spot with a win coupled with a Jax win over Hallsville. However, a win coupled with a Ladycat win would set up a tie for second, with JT settingling into fourth. And a JT win coupled with a Jax win over Hallsville would set up a three way tie for second between Marshall, Hallsville, and JT. All three teams split with each other on the season. Tie breaker rules, please? Kilgore Vs. Nac- The game doesn't mean anything in the standings. But it's all about pride for the ladies in this game. PT Vs. WH- Another game that doesn't affect the standings much. As each team is looking to close out the season with a win.

They are two games ahead of Marshall and Hallsville, with three games left to play. Maidens need on more win to clinch title. Ahhh. You are right!!! They haven't clinched it outright. But they have already clinched a share. So I guess they haven't technically clinched it outright. BUT you're count is off on the # of games left. Jax girls only have TWO games left, not three. PT tonight and Hallsville Tuesday night. Everyone else in 14-4A only has one game left and that will be Tuesday. So Jax has clinched at least a tie. A win tonight will clinch it for them outright. Thanks!

Mavchamp
his quote had absolutely nothing to do with Jacksonville (whom they beat) or Marshall(whom they will beat.) [/b][/u] Would u like your crow with salt or with Catsup??? FINAL: LADY MAVS BEAT JOHN TYLER 68-58 completing their sweep of the Lady Lions. If Hallsville lost to Jax tonight, then the Lady Mavs clinched the #2 spot and Hallsville and JT are tied for third. On a side note......JT's Lady Lions are a crazy good rebounding team. They dominated Marshall the boards (at least it felt that way). Good luck to all the ladies in 14-4A headed to the playoffs. Mavchamp
Friday's Games Whitehouse Vs. Marshall Jacksonville Vs. Nac PT Vs. Hallsville John Tyler Vs. Kilgore WHITEHOUSE Vs. MARSHALL- This may be the biggest game on the schedule Friday night. Marshall enters the game tied with Jacksonville for second place. Whitehouse is currently in fourth place, two games ahead of PT with two games remaining. A Marshall win will keep them in second place. They will remain in a tie with Jax if the Indians beat Nac or all alone in second place if the Dragons pull off the upset. A Whitehouse win will clinch the playoffs for the Wildcats while pulling into a third place tie with Marshall heading into the season finale on Tuesday. Marshall won the first game 55-51. JACKSONVILLE Vs. NACODOCHES- The Indians need a win to keep themselves in a tie for second place with Marshall. If the tribe wins coupled with a Marshall loss to WH, then Jacksonville takes sole possession of second place. A tribe loss coupled with a Whitehouse win would pull the two into a tie for third. Nacogdoches is playing for pride. PINE TREE Vs. HALLSVILLE- The Pirates are backed into a corner. They need to win out and some help to make the playoffs. They need a win over Hallsville on Friday and a win over Marshall next Tuesday. They also need WH to lose to Marshall Friday and Kilgore to beat the Wildcats on Tuesday. That scnenario would force a tie between WH and PT for fourth, needing a playoff for the final playoff spot. So yes.....PT is still in it.....but it's complicated. So this Friday is a must-win for the Pirates. A loss will end their hopes. Hallsville is looking to play spoiler to their arch rivals. JOHN TYLER Vs. KILGORE- This is the only game that has no bearing on the district race. JT has clinched the district championship, while Kilgore has all but clinched the district cellar. ----------------------- The ladies are done for the regular season!! Jacksonville- District Champs Marshall- #2 seed Hallsville- #3 seed John Tyler- #4 seed Most of them will be playing in playoff warm-up games this weekend. eagles66
The Sherman girls are the 13-4A champs. I think MP is the 4th place team. Also SS and Royse City appear headed to the playoffs. However, weather has caused a lot of games to be re-scheduled. The Sherman girls are the champions of the 13-4A district. With that it appears it will be Sherman and JT in bi-district.
