osup116
One of the JV's from what I am hearing will mostly be freshman with some of the stronger players on the other JV with 2 or 3 freshman possible making Varisty.I cant understand why Crockett doesnt have a freshman or 2 jv's with all the numbers Maxie is always quoting about the Bulldogs. Also osup 116,yall dont have Kevin Anderson coaching anymore(if not mistaken wasnt he the coach those 2 years yall beat Crockett) and not knocking yall's present coach(dont know him from a hill of beans) but Anderson is a hellva coach. Westwood has the numbers for a freshman team. Was told most 2a's dont carry them. I like the Idea of two J.V's you never know who is going to develope into a player with more reps under their belt. Roger Mays is our Coach. He took over after Bryan Price was let go mid - season. IMO Mays should have been the coach from get go but that is another story. I think Coach Anderson is a great Coach but Mays is a better one. The kids rally behind him and believe in what he is doing.

Probably one of two things would happen - have me committed or the big D. LOL

Athlete wise, Wheeler and Smith won't be hard to replace. Crockett is blessed with a lot of natural talent. Getting the same production will take a while, but I think most agree that Crockett will be just fine this year.
topher805
by mid season your excusse will be "grades got us again this year".. Grades don't bite the varsity too often in Crockett lately. I know Wheeler failed two years ago, but they have been pretty solid the past couple of years.

THANK YOU TOPHER THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN ELUDING TOO BUT THEY SEEM NOT TO WANT TO COMPREHEND,CROCKETT WAS BETTER IN MY OPINION WHEN THEY LOST WHEELER TO GRADES BECAUSE THEY WERE FORCED TO USE ALL OF THERE ATHLETES NOT JUST A FEW. SHSUgrad
Crockett has one of the better coaches that they have had in awhile. They have talent. I will have to wait and see how it all comes together, but will say we make the playoffs again this year.

topher805
Crockett looks to be having a competition for quarterback this year. Sr receiver McKnight is getting some looks along with one of the freshman. I think McKnight will likely get the nod, and the younger player can take over next year. They do have two freshman that have stood out at practice and could be earning their way on the varsity right now.

If one of yalls freshmen wins the spot then that shows me where yalls varsity is because crocketts last yr 8th grade team was no where near Teagues last yr 8th grade team and our freshman qb is no where near close to our starting spot.. I don't think Crockett wlil be looking to throw much. I think they stick to the zone read as they have the past few years. Don't need a big arm, just quick legs that can get downfield quick. I have never seen this kid play. I'm just going off what the coach said. Plus your forgetting he will have a mammoth line in front of him that has had their way with the Teague front seven the last two years...
