h-town12
Things are looking good for the Aggies. We just got a pledge from Shaun Nixon, one of the top running backs in the country out of Lake Travis. Once Hoza Scott commits too, we will have pledges from the likely number 1 and 2 players in the state.

Sicembeers
They would have had the same influx in recruiting in the Big 12. Look at Baylor last season and their influx. They both had comparable years but A&M will play in a better bowl.
topher805
I've heard multiple recruits say the SEC was a big factor in their decision! I'm sure for some kids it is a big deal, but winning does more for recruiting than anything. Playing in the SEC probably helps Vanderbilt gain recruits over Memphis or Ole Miss over Southern Miss. There is no doubt that the SEC helps some schools get players that want to play in a premier conference, but there is a reason that some teams consistently bring in top classes, and it isn't their conference affiliation. Texas, USC, and Alabama consistently bring in top classes because they win in a top conference. Top players want to win, not go to a big conference and be stuck on a mediocre team. Winning is what brings in the prized recruits. The potential top two recruits in Texas are leaning towards the Aggies because they are winning now. A&M is at a cross roads with their program right now. This is (in my opinion) their best season in school history. What they do from here says everything about where the program is going. If the coaches and players keep working and pushing to grow the program, they can take a step towards the elite and become one of the big boys for years to come. If they decide to coast off of their accomplishments this year, then they will stay a middle of the pack team that contends here and there. Judging by how early recruiting is looking, they are hungry for more...
WETSU
Not their best season afterall they won it all before. Plus 1994(probation) and 1998(Big 12 Champions) teams were just as good. I agree... A&M had several 10 win seasons and conference titles in the 80s-90s. This season is the best in the last 10 years or so though.

DaveTV1
A&M's moving to the SEC was going to be beneficial for recruiting, not only in State, but out of State. There are a lot of kids in Texas that would love to play in the SEC. There are a lot of kids in the South that don't want to play in their home state, but want to get out from the watchful eye of their parent. A&M having success this early, and with Johnny Football on the map for the next 2 - 3 years will encourage more players to sign with A&M. The Big X can talk all the noise they want, but in the eyes of many the SEC is IT.
h-town12
With Manning coming on board and what looks like future commitments in RSJ and Savi from Hawaii, A&M could have 16 4-stars committed for the 2013 class. That's more 4 stars than Texas and OU have commits. Sumlin is doing a great job. The 2014 class is looking even better. Next few weeks could lead to A&M having 5 commits with them all being 4 stars. Valhalla
Ehh.. I never have really put much stock into player star ratings anyways. I see too many 5 and 4 star players fail and too many 3 star players excel.

justafan903
Ags just picked up East Texan Jamal Jeffries from Lufkin. Looks to be a solid slot receiver. Also looks like 2013 recruit Kerrick Huggins, DT, has flipped to OU.

Also looks like 2013 recruit Kerrick Huggins, DT, has flipped to OU. Huggins was asked by A&M to grey shirt because he will not qualify(according to his high school coaches.) This resulted into his decommitment.

Jarrett Johnson, one of the top defensive end prospects, and Kyle Allen, the top rated QB in the country committed. Sumlin and company are doing good work.
