franksnbeans
Looks like everyone else is playing for second since everyone on the list is from Carthage. 6 players total. And all on offense. There's a good reason their ranked #1 in the preseason polls.
Red90fly
Jacolby Whitaker , Alto , RB/LB , will be one of the top players in ET next year regardless of classification.

whousecats
Saw Carthage in the first round, in a very good game. The offense should score 40 plus every week. The only time they will struggle is when they turn the ball over, or get too cute with play calling. Both of those things hurt them in most of the close games they had, and especially in the losses. Proud that two Palestine Wildcats are included. Brian Thlang 6'2 275 OT got selected to AP all state last year. One of the best kids you could meet, is a top academic kid, and I hope he has a great senior year and some school takes a shot on a kid who might be a little short. Jarrell Owens 6'3 240 RB/DE had a great sophmore year running the ball, then this past year was injured off and on all year. He has moments of being brilliant, but needs to work on holding on to the ball. Such a physical runner, but he gets loose with the ball.

snuffy
McCurdy may shatter all the 2A receiving records next season. The receiver from Teague will be up there as well
JTFAN99
good list. I expect a receiver or two from Whitehouse to be on this at the end of the season.
Eagle8
McCurdy may shatter all the 2A receiving records next season. The receiver from Teague will be up there as well He came outta nowhere last year.....this year teams will game plan him. He'll eat up the weaker teams....the better teams will shade him with a safety all night to be there on impact with the skinny post that killed everybody last year. Don't get me wrong, he'll get good numbers again, he's a heck of an athlete.....I'm just saying that the better teams will account for him and limit him more so this year now that they know who he is. Kid had like 6 catches and 150 yards coming into to our game....we didn't know this kid from Adam and Eve.....he errupted for over 300 yards against us I believe....we'll know who he is next year dang it, lol. franksnbeans
good list. I expect a receiver or two from Whitehouse to be on this at the end of the season. You might be right. I almost put Jake Parker on the list. For me, it came down to McCurdy and Parker. Jake Parker - 69 receptions / 976 yards / 9 tds in 12 games (5th in ET in receptions) Jansen McCurdy - 49 receptions / 1268 yards / 18 tds in 12 games (3rd in ET in receiving TDs) tough call

Take McCurdy off of White Oak's roster and they struggle through the air..........take Parker off of Whitehouse's roster and they still have 5 more guys to throw to. Plus...McCurdy's long ball was devistating last year....and he had twice as many TDs as parker which puts a stamp of approval on your decision to go with McCurdy. franksnbeans
Jacolby Whitaker , Alto , RB/LB , will be one of the top players in ET next year regardless of classification. This was actually the toughest decision for me. Leaving Whitaker off the list was hard. 304 carries / 2696 yards / 39 tds 10 receptions / 129 yards / 1 td Whitaker was first team all-state in 1A Playing in a more balanced offense Pipkin did not have the same gaudy stats: 238 carries / 1645 yards / 13 tds 28 receptions / 339 yards / 1 td Pipkin was first team all district 20-3A I try not to discredit kids from smaller classifications. But, this is a case where I gave credit to Pipkin for facing tougher competition. Pipkin also played through injuries last season. Really tough call. Perhaps I could be convinced. Care to make the argument for Whitaker?

WP4L
And, fullbacks Can't think of another program in East Texas that still consistently uses Fullbacks and TE's the way Longview does.. especially TE. We're dang near sending a TE D1/D2/FCS every year.. Since the 2010 season alone.. 2010 Brandon Olson-Kansas 2010 D'marjai Devine-TJC 2011 Braden King-Sam Houston St 2012 Colin Jeter-Air Force Heck, we even use Fullbacks as tailbacks in spread formation..
