Immortal13
You are up 3-1 at home against the Tigers. With a man on 2nd, M. Cabrera steps up to the plate. What would you do in this situation?

threejs
With Mariano Rivera, I pitch to him and hope my first baseman can catch a foul ball. With Joe Nathan, I walk him.

Guess you didn't see the sportscenter highlights last night. Cabrera went deep on Mariano, tying the game. NY did come back and win in extras but holy moly that seemed like a dumb move by Girardi to me. With first base open, why not just walk the guy? MLB Quick Pitch showed the entire at-bat by Cabrera, which included Lyle Overbay not making the play on a foul ball early in the count.
Immortal13
Looks like maybe it's wise to not pitch to MC at all....especially the yankees
