playmaker
Tolar put a whoopin on"em. I think that puts Scurry in the drivers seat for district champs if not mistaken.

rubberhammer
I called it, Shimonek was the motor to that car. To defend them, Draylon Sterling, their RB, did not play last week. If he had, scored would've been flipped. He is a stud on both sides of the ball.

Gotta agree with Bulldog on this. Sterling is a stud, but to say the score would've been flipped due to one player is a little drastic. Sounds like Tolar moved the ball up and down the field at will through the ground and in the air. I agree that Mildred's offense would have put up some points, but I still feel like Tolar would have won this game by 3 TD's or more. Looks like Scurry is gonna win this district and Mildred is in line for 3rd.
rubberhammer
Sterling was a 49 point difference?? He's good but not a 49 point difference good. It would've been closer though. Makes 80% of tackles and accounts for 90% of offense. He's the leader on a young squad. They're better than Tolar with him playing, I promise. bluetopper
Mildred not being a powerhouse has got to bode well for Cooper on down the line.

Ref5314
Mildred was down to Rice at half 13-0 ended up winning 14-13.. Yes I am guessing Sterling was out again.
bluetopper
What's up with Mildred? Â The hosses graduated and it's simply not their year. Â Looks like Region 2 may belong to Cooper this year.
Ref5314
We might see a Cooper vs Scurry showdown.. We will see if Mildred get Sterling back and how Scurry vs Mildred comes out.
Bulldognation1
Probably still little early, but if Scurry does go on to win that district, & them & Cooper keep taking care of business, what round would that matchup likely take place? Would atleast be the 3rd at the earliest wouldn't it?
JimmyNeutral
I just don't think Scurry is for real. I believe Cooper will win fairly easily if that matchup occurred.

bluetopper
Will the third round decide region champ? Quarterfinals? Â Cooper will have a first round bye.....correct?
flukeshot
No. Cooper will play the fourth place team from district 7 in the first round. There are no byes now with an even number of teams from each district qualifying for the playoffs.
flukeshot
Also the third round is called the "regional" round on the UIL brackets even though there are four teams from each region alive at that point. So yes, each region produces two regional champions (sigh) and they meet the next week in the state quarters.
