Eagleborn
Looking at the state leaders in the LNJ one thing jumped out at me... Traditionally, East Texas is known for running backs... Not the case anymore. 1,000 yard rushers- 6 1,000 yard passer- 24 10-years ago you could flip that. 5-years ago you could flip that. What gives? Just going through the cycle? dago29
I think the game as a whole is changing. Passing the ball is the new way to move down the field. The running game is going by the wayside, and if the ball's being run it's by the QB. This isn't our fathers' football anymore.

Eagleborn
My point is ETx is known for running backs... Times are changing with the offenses... It's not a bad thing.. Just a different thing, with me at least.

buckeyebob
With the Spread & development of the kids...the game has changed greatly...used to be 4 yards & cloud of dirt...now much more sophisticated
WP4L
Teams are more balanced. Just look at how drastically Longview has changed offensively since 2005. Couldn't catch Longview in the spread back then. Defenses have changed too. More safeties are leading teams in tackles rather than LB's.
