Better then our defense thats fo sho King has to be the highest paid because he wins district every year and that makes the lobos happy. haha. 3 years ago Traylors salary was listed at 120k, he got a very nice raise last year. 3 years ago there was a list going around on Smoaky that listed top salaries in this area. 1 Traylor 2 Surratt 3 King 4 Outlaw I do beleive that Surratt should be the highest paid. Longview just happens to play in the deepest and most talented class in Texas if not america Texas 5A. This is not little boy football. You are going up against schools with 4,000 plus enrollment That is hilarious, King wins on talent alone. Some people are happy in good small towns. I talked to a coach one time who went from 2A to 5A with a huge pay raise and 6 assistant coaches. He has a great coaching staff and a lot of them for a 3A school. Has a plethora of talent and he is winning every year. Oh yeah and the people of Carthage thinks he hung the moon. So take the Lufkin job where you facilities are not near as good,make a little more money, and you out yourself another 2 hrs from his family in Linden. Where is the upside. Winning a state championship at what will be 5 Lufkin. What's wrong with being a dynasty like Celine or Brownwood or Lake Travis. I could see him leaving at some point in his career but not now. Yea, I forgot about the Carthage basketball gym. It's very nice. Yall don't have the best facilities though. Not even close. He has a great thing in Carthage, but I still think he will leave one day. I just made a comment that Lufkin should go after him and then that Gilmer fan made a statement like Lufkin couldn't pay him the same as Carthage, but I doubt the board will make any changes to the staff this year. We could definitely pay him though, so that's not the problem. I think he would go to a Metroplex school before he would come here. GT made that statement. However, I think King would do well in 3A and may win a few titles. I have a lot of family from Crockett and Alto, so I know about all of the lack of depth/talent, but he's a great coach and I think he has had success at every place he's been at. I am not going to stoop to your level and downgrade your town, but Gilmer and Carthage are two of the greatest towns in Texas. Great community support, great kids, good facilities, and good pay oh yea don't forget good athletes.
