15-5A schools and 7th grade football

Marshall has two highly successful fall football leagues. They have Pop Warner (sponsored by the City I believe) as well as the Junior NFL league by the Boys and Girls Club.

 

I think both end after the 6th grade..... but don't quote me on that.

 

MISD started 7th grade football when Coach Southern was here.......so it has only been around for 6-7 years. 10 at the most. Their games were home/away with Hallsville, Pine Tree, Mt. Pleasant. They played Judson MS. I think the Jax game was scratched, but it was on the schedule.

 

Not sure what's going to take it's place.... but it seems it's more common to not have it than to have it. Just seems an odd decision after all this time.

 

Coach Harper has done a lot of good things since he got here. I'll trust he's making the right one here too.

Longview has always spilt each middle school into 2 teams and played split games against both teams from each school. At the end they would play a city championship round robin.

Longview plays us...we have an Orange & Black 7th & 8th.., this has got to be a $$ issue...or, the Politically Correct Police or the Wrap My Baby in Bubble Wrap Bunch are involved...I am not saying there are no injuries...let the kid out of the house & get dirty...or ban everything but Chess & Golf...naw, I do remember a kid beat the #### out of another with a golf club...sounds like a bunch of pansies
