Eagleborn
I will have to wait and see. JT is playing three power run teams in the preseason to get ready for Ennis. How many of those power running teams run out of the wing T?

PackAttack
My statement mentioned was "IF" Lufkin does not make the playoffs in reference to Blitzem's first post on the top 4 predicted finishers in 16-5A. He later changed his prediction. It was more of a statement made tongue in cheek. No contridiction from how I really feel about an improved Lufkin team, who did finish 5-6 last year amid several key injuries. Lufkin never had all their starters on the field at the same time in any game last year. To my Lobo friend, you know the 5-6 record last year was not the norm for Lufkin in that district. We finished either 1st or 2nd in District 8 of the 10 years we were down there. IMO Conroe, Conroe Oak Ridge, College Park or Bryan were not anything close to JT, Ennis, Whitehouse or Nacogdoches last year. Only The Woodlands and A&M Consolidated were formidable opponents as the Lobos know well. Personally I believe Lufkin will do well for themselves in 2014. blitzem
I really can't imagine Lufkin having any issues making the playoffs. Sorry I somehow missed them earlier. That eas definitely done in error. No one in this district will be overlooking Lufkin based on last year, that's for sure!
WP4L
My prediction based on returning talent + success a year ago 1) Lufkin 2) Ennis 3) John Tyler 4) Nacogdoches 5) Whitehouse 6) Lindale 7) Corsicana 8) Jacksonville Think you can switch Nac and Whitehouse on any given week. Both have some studs returning on the defensive side of the ball. Jacksonville may probably end up being better than I'm giving them credit for since they have one of the better QBs in the district...but I can't give em too much credit in this district. TempoSavesLives
I know you are blinded by hometown emotion Cujo but I see JT losing at least 2 district games (Ennis and 1 of the Lufkin/NAC/WH games). 5-2 is not a bad district record in this district, like I said I haven't seen a tougher one in 5A, with the exception (and this is not a shot by any means) of potentially Jacksonville and definitely Lindale every team could make the playoffs and probably would in some other districts. All in all it's going to come down to JT vs LP for who gets T-High and who gets Longview that's what matters!! Who cares about a district championship, the goal is to win a state championship! gotta get past the first round in order to achieve that goal, don't have to win district. Yes that trophy looks nice in your fieldhouse but in 5 years what resonates more a team that goes 10-1 and loses in the first round (or any other record that earns a district championship) or a team that plays into December?? Give me December football and you can have the district championship gold ball
TempoSavesLives
Fonz, You must know something most of us don't... I don't see how Lindale has a prayer to finish above both Jacksonville and Corsicana unless they both are ravaged by injuries in 2014!
blitzem
I think the bottom 3 in the district could play out in any order really. Last year it was Lindale getting the 4th spot, followed by Corsicana then Jacksonville.

The point is i don't won't them to lose a district game I want them to win district. Then go on to state. To some people winning a district championship is still a big thing. 5-2 isn't back, but it's not 7-0. In. 2000 JT was the third or fourth place team going into the playoffs, and made it to state. Only, to lose to Katy. However, it is not so far fetched that i want the bast out of these kids. If that means 5-2 then that's cool

3rdcoastent
the score was like 24-13 blue team won which was the first team offense wilson looks like he can be ok at the rb position the o looked pretty much they same few new plays i seen mixed in there . def looks like the can get after the qb and stop the run in the backfield many times the was right in geos face. one thing i saw is a little different def calls an not the same 4-3 that we run one formation was no deep saftey 4 on the line 7 behind and it look like it worked pretty good
