Tatum_DirtyBird Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Hey, can someone tell me who is the home team? GW fans were talking about sitting in the visitors side.....
AnOldBuckeye Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Wow,,, difficult game to judge. One of the hardest things here for me to decide is who I want to get beat the most. LOL Two of the teams I dislike more than others. Nothing personal, just a rivalry situation. Throughout the years, GW has been the main team I want to beat. GHS, orange and black, in same district for so many years, town newspapers both named Mirror, just lots of reasons to stir up big time games and rivalries. But Gilmer has handled GW pretty well over the past decade, and Tatum has emerged as a good rivalry for us. I just don't like either team. Love to hear any time either of them get beat. Again, nothing personal, it's just due to all the big games we've had with both. Â I haven't seen Happywater play this year. Ooops,, I can't say that anymore,, Gilmer is no longer dry. Darn it,,, we sell "happy water" too. Oh well,,, anyway, it's hard to know just how good Gladewater is, "BUT",, they have played some really good teams,,,,,, and won them all. I "hear" GW has a great ground game. And I "hear" they have a great defense against the run. I "know" Tatum has a good run game, which could neutralize the good run defense GW has. I also know that Tatum has a good defense, that will smack the heck out of you. I feel that could hinder the GW ground game, just not sure it will "stop" GW's ground game. I think the difference maker in this game is Tatum's ability to throw the ball. "IF" Tatum has success throwing the ball against GW, it will help their own ground attack, and that could prove costly to Gladewater. If GW stops Tatums passing game, then in my opinion, it's a GW victory. My guess is that Tatum "will be" able to throw the ball, and that fact gives them just enough of an edge to win the game. My prognostication success rate might not be revved up to potential because I don't usually pick scores, even winners and losers, but I'm gonna venture out, and say that Tatum wins this game by a score of 35 to 28. Â I don't know the emotional/mental level of this GW team, but I know in the past I've seen them let emotions get out of control if you jump on them early. They would start getting on each other, infighting, and implode and point fingers. If Tatum jumps out to a quick lead, and if things haven't changed in GW with team composure and focus,,, well, it could be a long night in the "un"real "G"-town. LOL But I have no favorites in this one,, either way I'm a winner, because one of the teams I love to beat and rag on will be sad when the game's over. I'm just joshin' with ya,,, I really don't have a favorite though,, Gilmer may have to play one of these two teams down the road somewhere,, and either way, it would probably be a pivotal, hard fought, difficult game for the Buckeyes to win. As always, I just hope both teams come out of it with few if any,, (and no serious),,, injuries. Either way, I am sure it would be a great game to watch. There is a certain temptation here, to go watch this game instead of going all the way to Melissa to see the Buckeyes,,,,,, but being the Buckeye fan I am,,, I just can't do it. Wish this one was played on Gilmer's by-week. If so,,, I'd be there.
Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Solid post. But, Gladewater hasn't beaten all the good teams they played.
Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Hopefully playing a tougher schedule this season will help Tatum this week. Time will tell.
AnOldBuckeye Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â Solid post. But, Gladewater hasn't beaten all the good teams they played. Â I am humbled here, you are correct sir. I forgot about the game against the team from Louisana. But you have to look at that a bit different. All the private school teams in Louisana have a huge majority of stacked kids. Even considering that game, I don't count that as a loss if you compare it to East Texas Football. It's just plain difficult to go up against the better private schools. Even when their enrollment is smaller than yours, if they get to pick and choose their team.
GolfNut4Life Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I'm hopeful the same holds true for the Bears after their tough pre-district schedule.

Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I'm hopeful the same holds true for the Bears after their tough pre-district schedule. Â Yea, that combined 8-17 is brutal.

They may have 1A numbers, but every student in the school may be an athletic superstar avoiding Louisiana public schools.

Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â Tatum? Â What are you talking about? Tatum... meh.... Â I was talking about Evangel back in their good days.
GolfNut4Life Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â Yea, that combined 8-17 is brutal. I guess after we win and its a combined 10-21 Atlanta can say the same thing next week.
Five0pd310 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I guess after we win and its a combined 10-21 Atlanta can say the same thing next week. Â lol....ouch!!
Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I guess after we win and its a combined 10-21 Atlanta can say the same thing next week. Â Maybe so.... Â Truth is, you haven't beat anyone this season (neither have we)... Beating the name on the jersey doesn't mean those teams are what they used to be. Are they good teams? Maybe, but they are no where near the same two teams that played at Jerry's world last year. Â lol....ouch!! Â So many different directions I could go with that.......................
gwb2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â Maybe so.... Â Truth is, you haven't beat anyone this season (neither have we)... Â Â Kilore may not be as good as they were last year but they are def a good team , you guys only have one more win then they do and I think BOTH are way better than the record! Check the scores and who Kilgore has played ! But I get what your saying!
gwb2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I know who they have played. Â I figured you did , guess I worded it wrong! I just think Kilgore is a whole lot better than the record and I think they win that district
Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I figured you did , guess I worded it wrong! I just think Kilgore is a whole lot better than the record and I think they win that district The Kilgore/GW game was a good game. GW took advantage of a few mistakes and built on it.
Five0pd310 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â ..... Â So many different directions I could go with that....................... Â Better get yourself a compass, then.
Eagleborn Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Â Better get yourself a compass, then. No need.
Golfingnut Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Yeah i can't see along with several others that agree with me.I guess You will see what I'm talking about soon enough. Not trying to offend you just couldn't tell and was just wondering. Â Â OK, I will give you a clue and see if you can figure it out. The clue is; look at my profile pic(the one you can't tell what I am) and read all the stuff directly underneath it. And since I don't hide behind no pic and a fake screen name you should be able to get it. Of course if you have no reading comprehension skills then I'll have to give you another clue. Â Good luck!
Golfingnut Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I can't see either. Â Â Don't encourage him Eagleborn. :)
GTownballer Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 If Tatum can pass effectively, in which I think they can, they will be in this ballgame, I dont think they stop Gladewater, Mack on third and short, is very tough to stop, and even more so inside the red zone! I think Gladewater is suspect on the pass, and if Tatum can take advantage of that, they are in this game, if not, I think its Gladewater by 2 scores!
