LoboFan07
Man I really thought yall were a lot better than them. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked at this.. How do you think Lufkin would have matched up with them today? Duffey would torched y'all just as bad as us. Quick would've won game on offense though. I don't think we completed a pass until the 4th quarter. We attempted maybe 3 times before that. Hasty was injured early on too and King didn't really ever have him back out there other then the end as a WR. But yea, Duffey is one of the big reasons LR won. I'm not joking when I say we had him caught in the backfield 15 times and he somehow found a way out of it.
PackAttack
Sorry for your loss. It was quite a shocker to see when I got in from working outside. Think they were the only Mansfield team to win this weekend. Somebody else has stole my signature picture too. Anyway , later .....
TheFootballFan
Coaching is the issue at Longview.... Nice guy, bad game day coach to say the least!!!!
Mavchamp
LR was fortunate to win this game. They escaped. They survived. Nothing more. Their play calling in the final 4 mins of the game was ATROCIOUS. It was what allowed Longview to claw their way back in the final mins. It's like they had never heard of longview's ability to win games late. Lack of respect? Lack of historical knowledge? Did they not see last week? LR coach dodged a bullet on his conservatism. Almost gave it away on his horrendous play calling. And the lobos nearly made him pay. Great season Lobos. As always.......I enjoyed the company. I guess I'll see you all in Shreveport next year. Even though MHS is pulling out of it.
TheFootballFan
Winning district titles is over rated!!! Weak districts !!!! When to we out coach a team???? When do we scheme up a team to confuse??? Time management is embarassing !!! Cost the game! Play calling!!! Why is Dez running a dang option play when he can even stand to throw a pass!??? Just same ole..... To me Longview is not even close to being a top tier team!!!! Not even top 25!!!! Cosching staff is 10 years behind !!!! Not going to change!!! Zero expectations at Longview now!!! Oh, beat pinectree, my pleasant and hallsville.....!!!! Pretty sad! It's a stagnant program!!!' I would go in add new offensive coordinator, new uniforms and change it up!!!! What's been going on is not good enough!!!! Just the truth!!!

Tatorhead
You have 50 jr highs throughout longview and they all run a different system? 50 different mascots too? i never understood that, a good program starts at the jr high level.

Have you even watched this team this year? Or the past couple of years? Because that is clearly not even close to the case. This is a ridiculous mis perception that people run with for no reason. kingwolf
Great season Lobos! Truth is both longview and Lufkin field state title talent teams and come up short...it's just in the cards...no worries

This is a ridiculous mis perception that people run with for no reason.maybe not now but way before King it was like that. I know cause I was part of that problem. It's the same feeling for Longview every year...
TobinFrost
I really want to go in a different direction. I HONESTLY believe it's time to get Scott Surratt and whomever he WANTS to bring in to Longview High before it's too late. It's just time for a change IF our fanbase wants a realistic shot at winning at State Title. But, to John King's credit, he was overwhelmed with a plethora of things regarding this year's team to off-the-field antics, injury plagued team defensively and a totally new and inexperienced group. Mavchamp
Careful what some of you are wishing for..... There is always a chance that King leaving could cause a nosedive for the program. We've seen it happen with other programs before. He's a winner. I'd hold on to him as long as I could...... JMHO
THSfanatic
I'm certainly not getting into the coaching at LV, cause I don't know much about it. I DO know that sooner or later Surratt is gonna be in a big time program doing big time things.
Tatorhead
Why would surratt leave Carthage? He has a town that backs him, nice facilities, good athletes and he is already PAID!!!!

I understand you speak from a program that has been down for a long time, however, being fearful of the program taking a step back due to a coaching change is idiotic. Who is to say it may go up. If King was to leave or forced to leave... there would be solid coaches that would line up to be AD/HC. He is a winner of games that do not mean anything. However, he has not won the games where he, as a head coach, was needed to take them to a different level and a win.

Giving King a pat on the back as you kick him out the door. Funny post. Oh, did you miss last weeks results? Lobos beat Lufkin. Today's loss hurts, but last week was sooooo sweet !!! Don't throw JK under the bus just yet. His team achieved more than many expected after the noted setbacks this year and the Lobos never gave up today, even when the chips were down. Hats off to John King and the Lobos.
