buckeyefan1984 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 How many points will Gilmer Score? guess it make them fill good about them selves. Â I guess if you were the freshman running back, you would just take a knee and not try to score. Â Oh that's right, you would try to score every time you touched the ball. Â Don't worry, it will be our own little secret. Promise.
CasualObserver70 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Well, I stand corrected on my prediction! Thought this might be a closer game. Â But a few quick observations: Â 1. Connally moved the ball in the first quarter. They made yards on their 1st possession, & had a real good drive on their 2nd one, but they didn't get any points. So the stats for the first quarter probably show Connally with a lot of rushing yards. But Gilmer's D shut them down when they had to. Â 2. Gilmer can score at any time from anywhere. If Carter has time to throw, he's too accurate & there are too many weapons to stop. And any time Gilmer needs 4 yards, Lynch is getting 4 yards. Â 3. Even when you bust a big play on Gilmer it doesn't matter. They've got so much speed on D that they run it down. So what might have been a 75 yard TD run turns out to be a 30 yard run. The defense then stiffens, and the big play was for naught. Â 4. I don't know how good Connally really was. Gilmer can make pretty good teams look really bad. But after the first quarter, their offense didn't do much. Â 5. Carter played only one possession at QB in the 2nd half. All RBs & receivers were 3rd string plus by 2nd possession. It's a good news / bad news: Gilmer got to rest a lot of kids before the G town showdown, but they don't get a lot of reps. Â Well, it's on to the battle of Gtown. I would say let the smack talk begin, but it's already been going on all year.
GilmerBuckeye Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Let the chant begin... Â Gilmer, Gilmer...the REAL GHS!

If a team can't stop 2nd and 3rd stringers then the game was over before it started. Â The bad part about being ahead so much is that backup QB's don't get a lot of rep's throwing the ball because you don't want to appear as if you are running up the score.
GTownballer Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Well was certainly looking for a better game, than what it ended up being, and by watching Waco Connally take the field, you would have thought it, size and speed, and by their previous points scored in previous games! I missed a few of the district games, due to hunting obligations, but in watching the 2 playoff games so far! Gilmer, is peaking at the right time, the defense has improved tons, as the season has gone along, and have become deep, allowing fresh legs late in the game, alot of young players making plays! The Offense, boy where do you start, I will go out on a limb, and say this could very well be the best offense of the Jeff Traylor era, no doubt! Everyone can say Gilmer hasnt played anybody, but you can rest assured, that the teams they have played have put their best 11 on the field, and given great effort! Keep it rolling Bucks, 1 week at a time! Great team effort, last night!
AnOldBuckeye Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Awesome Job Buckeyes,,, keep it rolling. Those Bears have been saying they want Gilmer all year now. My dad used to say "Be careful what you wish for,, you just might get it." This one should be fun.
