I could see Tenaha getting hot down the stretch and making it a race. Everyone else is out. Im guessing the girls will end up like last yr with martinsville, shelbyville, and tenaha.(not in that order).

Boys: Shelbyville, Tenaha, Martinsville. Tenaha needs to win out to take the district. Shelbyville is in the driver's seat right now.

Girls: Tenaha has already clinched a share of the title. A win over Shelbyville Tuesday gets it outright with two games remaining. If Joaquin wins out, AND gets help from Tenaha and Martinsville with wins over Shelbyville, they take the third spot. Shelbyville has been bit by the injury bug, so it's a possibility.

I believe Tenaha will need some help to win the district on the boy's side. Shelbyville currently is 5-0 and Tenaha and Timpson are 3-2. So, if Shelbyville goes 5-0 or 4-1 during the second round of district, the Dragons will be outright District Champions. If Shelbyville goes 3-2 and Tenaha goes 5-0, they would be Co-District Champions. So, Tenaha needs a lot of help from the rest of the District to get an outright District Title. Personally, I see Shelbyville winning the district and Tenaha coming in second.

As for the girls, Tenaha has not clinched a share of the title just yet. Shelbyville and Martinsville both only have 2 losses. So, if Tenaha were to lose 3 straight to finish the season then Shelbyville or Martinsville could take the title. I don't see the Lady Tigers losing 3 in a row though. If Tenaha wins tomorrow over Shelbyville, then they are guaranteed at least a share of the title with Martinsville.

You are right about the 3rd place scenario. Shelbyville has been hit by the injury bug at probably the worst possible time. This is the toughest stretch of their schedule. They play on the road at Tenaha and Joaquin, two tough places to play at, and they finish with Martinsville at home. But, the Lady Dragons are like a wounded animal right now and we all know wounded animals are extremely dangerous.

Tenaha girls 55-24

Tenaha boys 68-65-- really good game. Teams traded first half leads. Tigers jump to 10 point lead after 3. Stretched to 12. Dragons fought back to within 4 and scored down 5 with under :05 left. JJ Boykin for shelbyville played great. Tigers Deandre Thomas played huge including incredible alley oop dunk.

So, Tenaha girls have clinched a share of the district title. They can win it outright by beating Martinsville Friday, I believe.

That's was some terrible officiating last night 21 fouls for SHS 7 for THS . But if that what THS needs to do to win ol well.

Joaquin girls 42 Beckville 25

Shelbyville at Joaquin Friday is more or less a playoff game for the third spot. A Joaquin win would mean Shelbyville needs Joaquin to lose to Timpson in the final game, or they'd need to beat Martinsville. Either way, a Joaquin win just about guarantees a tie, and a play-in game. Come on ladies, take care of business.

Joaquin boys get their first district win over Beckville, 54-51.

There are always calls you don't agree with. Tenaha made some great plays towards the end and Shelbyville forced some turnovers but couldn't capitalize on all of them. Tenaha made almost all of their free throws in the 4th, good shooting when the game was on the line. Shelbyville hit double bonus with just over 1 min left in the 3rd. Tenaha hit double bonus around 3 min left in the game. Makes it awful tough when your playing from behind to increase the pressure without giving up a lot of free throws.

BIG night in 22-AA Basketball!!! Can the Martinsville Boys pull off the sweep against a Tenaha team that has gotten very hot? I'm taking Tenaha in this one myself. Shelbyville and Timpson should pick up wins tonight over Joaquin and Beckville. But, if Martinsville beats Tenaha that will have those two teams tied for third with 3 losses a piece. Should be an exciting finish to the season with nothing set in stone yet.

On the girls side Shelbyville and Joaquin match up tonight in Joaquin. Joaquin is fighting for its play-off life, with a win they will be tied with Shelbyville for the third spot going into the last game. A Shelbyville win puts the Lady Dragons in the play-offs with Tuesday's game against Martinsville potentially being a seeding game for second place. In order for that to happen though, Shelbyville will need to beat Joaquin and Tenaha will have to beat Martinsville tonight as well. That would leave both Martinsville and Shelbyville with 3 losses each.

It is exciting when there is still playoff spots on the line this late into the season! The games still have meaning!

I think the Tenaha Boys will take tonight's game against Martinsville. They have gotten hot at the right time of the season. But, I don't think it will be easy. Martinsville is a tough gym to play in and they seem to get some favorable calls and no calls in their gym, much like Tenaha in their gym. But, if the game is low scoring Martinsville will have a chance, if Tenaha is on fire then the officials will not have a chance to influence the game because they will beat Martinsville by at least 15.
